But it's exactly a *mission* that Rocket forgot to add. After you have all the gear and a capable rifle there's not much left to do. Apart from looting, the game has no point that would keep you going after a while.

way than you did before.

And a new status effect to represent the permanent mental trauma that gives you a chance to faint when you see another survivor of the gender that raped you

Thanks for the suggestion. I were there with two other guys that I know IRL but don't play with. They happened to be in the area so we met up and headed into town together.

Spent half an hour dodging zombies in Cherno (spawned right near it).... Found every utility / ammo you under the sun but nothing that actually has a trigger.... hatchet'd like 6 zombies to death in a doorway :v

Did you check the military spawns (fire stations and the two tents near the medical tents)? There often are assault rifles in those (almost every time, even), such as AKMs, AK-74s or M16A2s.
And the church often has pistols or "basic" weapons.

Then again, in a high population server, the town may have been looted before you got anything valuable...

Me and my friends have been playing, just picking UK servers with low pings.

The current version of the game is quite broken, and can cause some desync (lag) issues. Wait for the hotfix that will come out yesterday.

Agree about the fun of playing with people, though. Too bad I have a deep-rooted aversion to TS and the likes but that's my own problem.

I'd gladly play a medic who does nothing else but help players in need but since there's no global chat anymore and fags would shoot me anyway it wouldn't make much sense.

Yeah, but there are far easier to lose, since walls or trees actually have an effect on them now.

When/if radios are introduced, this may become possible again.
And you could have a few bodyguards.

Best place to find matches seems to be supermarkets for me. But you're right about the tool boxes.

Eh, toolboxes seem quite common to me, usually always find one in low/medium value industrial spawns.

I thought it would be obvious that you'll need a vehicle. The best one would of course be an helicopter.

Being a medic in DayZ is a frustrating and incredibly rewarding experience. I've doctored the south coast area for a couple days, it's really nice when people you save thank you and offer to watch your back on your way to loot a hospital or your next patient, and it does suck to lose everything when someone decides to shoot you after you've healed them, even if all you have on you is a handgun for protection from zeds and medical supplies. (that's why most medics have a couple tents not far from the zone they cover where they leave their gear and a couple hospitals' worth of supplies. still not much of a loss if someone discovers it.)

Sorry, I was locked in that building and heard gunshots and death screams, so I assumed it was your doing when I heard you eat and come up the stairs. I would have said "friendly" but that would have ruined the element of surprise in case you were hostile.
That was a shame too, if I knew that I could have transfused you. As you may have seen I had two blood bags :(
It was not a big deal though. Desync issue made me take an earlier save
