Never mind, went ahead and ran it at native res, couldn't see bugger all at 4:3.

Anyone else get a problem where 2 of the lines on the crosshair and the centre point disappear in windowed?

But it's so much more gangsta when you do it!

Also, the program works beautifully. Scares the shit out of my firewall and AV, but since the program itself actually works (and the programs i'm using have about average false positive rates) I figure it's probably safe.

Hopefully the guy who's making it (I got it from here..) will be able to boost it past 125x125, I'd like to see 200+ meters, or even 400.
I've seen lots of grass distance mods for SoC, when I used the 4x one it drained around 20 FPS though.

It can't seem to change the weapon's alignment when it's at rest, which is a shame; would've made it easier to move the weapon pos for making compatibility patches for different FOV settings so you don't get arm floating and shit.

I will edit this post continually with fixes for 4:3 ironsights for Swartz Mod guns, someone who actually has a widescreen is going to have to do the 16:10/16:9 ones.
These fixes are not 100% pure perfect, due to a problem i'm having in windowed where the centre point of the crosshair does not show even when not aiming down sights, and weapon moving due to breathing simulation. If someone knows a quick way that'll keep the crosshair point showing when aiming down sights, or stopping the breathing motion, I want to know.
I'm also not sure what effect running in 5:4 will have on the validity of these fixes for those in 4:3, but even if it does display differently for 4:3 than 5:4 they should still be miles better than the original settings.

The FPS hit is much smaller with just the distance tweak. The density tweak raped FPS at anything under r__detail_density 0.15.. and it didn't even increase distance (it appeared to, but only because the grass appeared denser closer to the limit of the grass pop-up

..And those are usually due to config file mishaps, if someone could give me the file I could figure out what specifically causes it to crash, I seem to be good at that kind of thing.

it's a totally uninformative error message, unfortunately. something to do with sound, but no indication of what needs to be fixed

Is it just me, or are the sights on a lot of the new weapons fucked beyond alignment problems? Does this happen on other peoples' PCs, or just mine?

Depends on what you mean by lag. Stuttering is a common issue which has to do with NPCs coming online (most prevalent in areas such as the Bar)

Yeah, there's not much you can do about that. You can try adding -noprefetch to the command line but you'll still get stuttering.

Defrag the game files, put -noprefetch as a command line. That's about as much as you can do.

Me too. I found the hunger system post-patch very well made and overall think the mod has a nice challenge to it. It's not overly hard like trying to kill a sniper with a sawn-off 50 meters away which is what I had to do in Clear Sky, but there is one problem.

Once you get all kits and upgrade your shit, the game becomes so ridiculously easy.
