I mentioned this in the patch thread, but in case someone doesn't go there
I was looking a few minutes ago to see how stranges work to see if I could suggest a fix to Valve for the escape plan. It doesn't look like I can.

But what I did notice is the Pip-Boy is set up to be strange. It would count Sentry Kills primarily and regular kills as a secondary (no idea how that would work).

I wonder if some time the last month or so it was almost a PDA item, and put in a crate as a strange, but they changed their mind at the last minute, or plan on doing it later.

Either way, it's one crate away from being a strange.
I'm interested to see where this goes. Turning a hat into a weapon is something we've just never had happen before, but having a weapon drop and craft like a hat seems like it'll get really confusing later on when there's more PDAs.

Or it could just be a strange misc, but that seems weird and not something they would do unless it's a special occasion like the gift one.

I used to give it shit for its art style, but I've since tried it out and I love it. Great little time-waster and it can be pretty ridiculously funny at times. I don't know if I'd dig a promotional item for it though, I can't imagine anything from that game looking too good unless it was the trademark coathanger jammed through the Pyro's head or something.

Well since some miscs are now getting assists on kills, perhaps they might add strange versions of them to count assists or like the Pip Boy count sentry kills

They could probably jury rig something, like a series of books styled after some of the ingame book items (Necronomicon, Book of Revelations, Etc) in the same vein as the Bombinomicon.

Or alternatively, just have some of the trinkets and minor items act like misc 'jewelry' or badges for the classes.

Edit: If you really wanted to make a stretch, a little pocket buddy style misc of Isaac with multiple styles would be neat, stuff like "Cyclops" for Cain, "Familiar" for Judas, etc.

but wouldn't that render strange wrenchs redundant?

maybe it should have a counter on buildings deployed/sucessful teleports/health dispensed.

Or better yet, you can apply a strange part to it making it automatically strange and you can make it track whatever part you want

teleports is a good idea, will be not-as-easy to farm in those kind of servers so that's awesome.

I can see it like this:

    Strange PDA

    (Sentries built: 1)
    (Dispensers built: 1)
    (Teleporter Entrances built: 2)
    (Teleporter Exits built: 2)

I'm suprised that Demoman still doesn't have any anti-building melee weapons like pyro's homewrecker. I mean, destroying enemy buildings is one of his main objectives.

it defeats the entire point of the Rainblower... that it's Pyro's imaginary lala land where everything is happy, but to everyone else it's horrific, destructive and vile. You're not suppose to see the real world version of the taunt because you aren't in the real world using it.

Using the rainblower, but not being in Pyroland is just... pointless.

Melee weapons for destroying buildings is kind of pointless, because you sure as hell won't have an easy time getting close to anything but dispensers and teleporters using a melee weapon, and even then you might as well use your normal weapons anyway.

but then you have to move away, exposing yourself to enemy team with an unloaded stickybomb launcher.

I'm thinking they're going to do more and more with this new Old West-themed town in the future. And more and more I'm thinking it's meant to be Teufort (the city/town they keep referencing, not the CTF map). What with Meet the Pyro taking place in it, the City on Fire Update page resembling it, the new old west-themed map found in the secret room on sp_doomsday, and part of the Loose Canon comic taking place in a similar area, I wonder if this new MvM mode (or perhaps just a new map in general) might center around an Old West-theme.

It'd be great if they released the props for map makers.
