Have any of you tried launching it directly from the folder? The hl2 executable? I get this error: The procedure entry point ?IsThreadRunning@CThread@@MAE_NXZ could not be located in the dynamic link library tier0.dll. Weird.

EDIT:

This isn't from steam. Launch it directly from C: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\<user>\garrysmod

Excuse me if I'm wrong, but I think that it will bug out if you do that. because gmod uses loads of special lines on startup to get all the files necessary for the game to run (just guessing based on my knowledges)

This is why I hate it when source engine updates break Garry's Mod. Not because I have to wait to play, but because every time this happens, A: There are a thousand threads about it, B: People argue when this happens (over pointless shit like whose fault it is, and who has or doesn't have a life because they want to play a game, or the fact that Garry/Valve are taking too long to do their job (they have lives too you know)) or C: A combination of both. Please, stop arguing, and just wait. It'll come when it comes. Do something else in the meantime.

Actually I'm pretty sure it does that if you try to run HL2.exe directly for any game other than Half life 2.
