Just came home from rehearsal to find a brand new copy of Source Filmmaker sitting happily in my games Library.
(In case any of you care, the rehearsal was for a musical about pee. If that's not disturbing enough, I play a gay cop that throws people off of buildings)

To my amazement I just left a game and noticed that it had been added to my library which is pretty awesome. I never normally get betas I opt into because of the hardware surveys.
To give hope to those still waiting, my laptop I did the survey on for the SFM was a mid range laptop bought back around the time HL2 was released, so the hardware is amazingly shite for beta opt ins today and yet I still got an invite.
Either random and/or hardware range they want to test is LARGE.

I just randomly got the Source Filmmaker myself. No warning, no notice - nothing. I wouldn't of even known if I wasn't putting a new Max Payne 3 custom grid image in and dicking around.

I've got it finally, first beta for me! And I know of lots of friends who've got it in the past day or so.
I think they're really pushing out more keys this week, lots of people getting in.
Also: I'm pretty much on the min sys req.

I have been checking my Tools section of steam (and not using the search bar like an idiot) to see if SFM would appear. I've been doing this since it came out. I never knew (up until my friend asked me why I haven't been using SFM) that it was in my games list for the longest time. I had SFM and have been expecting it for a while... and it was always there...
I don't know if I should feel happy or sad...

I finally got it, too! I squealed so hard, you guys don't even know. XD
When I first opened Steam, I saw that this one guy in my friends list (whom I don't know why I don't block, because I can't leave my status as Online without being chat-spammed, and it's honestly kinda creepy, since he gave me his phone number) and thought, "Great, now I'm going to have to suffer having friends that have SFM when I don't, as well?" until I looked over at my games list and saw it.
Then, I saw that it was a fucking 10GB download. FUCK. WHY DO I HAVE TO HAVE INTERNET USAGE DETERMINED BY HOW MUCH I DOWNLOAD/UPLOAD?!
It took me an hour to get my Internet working properly fromt the storm we had last night, too. Now I'm gonna try again to check and see if we have enough allowance to download it. If not... I think I might just cry.
Anyway, I wish the best of luck to anyone and everyone who still hasn't gotten it yet. Hope to see you all making movies, soon. ;)
