Guys I recently tried Dark Seer and he's by far the most fun hero to play.
So far I've done well compared to the people I'm against, I'm pretty sure I would've failed hard if they were better though, any advice on playing him?
Right now I do the starter items (skip clarity, get an extra branch) -> Magic Stick -> Phase Boots -> Vanguard -> Hood of Defiance -> Pipe of Insight -> Scythe of Vyse -> game usually ends by now
I level E W Q W Q W Q Q W R R E E E stats R stats
I've googled around but not really found any guides I deemed helpful.
I'm sure plenty will disagree but here's how I level him:
W E W Q W E W E E R R Q Q Q Stats R Stats->
As for items, Arcane Boots > Vanguard > Scepter > Heart/(BKB > Heart) > Refresher > More Hearts
I have indeed once gotten to a point where I had Arcane, Vanguard, Scepter, 2 Hearts, and a Refresher. But yeah fuck supporting as Dark Seer, I mean I'm not adverse to buying wards on him or even the courier if you team is full of dipshits, but he has so much goddamn potential and his ult scales better than just about anyone else's. And yes, get the goddamn scepter on him. If anyone disagrees with any of this I'd love to debate it in PMs, Dark Seer is my best character and this is the best way I've seen to play him.
Hell I'll even explain a bit here, I don't get soul ring because it's 800 gold I don't need to spend as arcanes work well enough to keep you in lane indefinitely. I don't get phase because they're rendered obsolete by lvl 4 Surge and Arcanes are good for the Mana. Once you have your vanguard you can tower dive relentlessly. Seriously, people will just try to dodge around their tower but since you've got unslowable max movement speed and 90 dps sitting on your head it is really easy to get kills early. Every time I've told a Seer to get Scepter he informs me that it no longer makes illusions of allies, to which I respond who gives a fuck, illusions dealing 140% damage is well worth it. And basically after you've got boots, vanguard and Scepter you're set, you should have plenty of Mana from boots and Intelligence alone, at this point you'll just have to stay alive when you initiate or be able to tank damage while your shell does all the work, so you get a heart. Sometimes, though, they'll stunlock you or silence or whatever to fuck up your initiation, so you need a bkb. If you have a heart, and somehow find yourself with ~6k gold, might as well get a refresher. After this the game should be over.
