Does anyone know what lies beyond the ocean past the last tower of the south?

By south do you mean in the direction behind the ironhammer entrance?
There is nothing interesting to see over the ocean. There are a few abandoned ruins of factions which just disappeared or moved on. It's such a detour away from anywhere that nobody even bothers to cross the ocean anymore. But if you like being left alone and are a bit of a hermit it's one of the better places to choose to live. You will almost never run into people down there... unless everyone who is reading this is now interested to explore that way

When I try to settle down, I always get spammed a metric fuckton of zombies. Are we supposed to settle down using a team? Seems impossible for me to even make the foundation for the shack I'm trying to build.

Didn't expect to come across a giant when first entering the outskirts of the dead city. Got mobbed to hell and now I am hiding out in a small house just outside the area.

How do you make and handle rifts? Is it a plugin, or do you make them using Worldedit or Voxelsniper?

This looks great so far, I followed the tall road and got off somewhere, made a small wall nearby and now am living out my days in my little fort.

Hey Drakortha, when 1.3 hits you are gonna update all the plug-ins and we have to stay on 1.2.5 if im correct. But will there be a new age when your done updating?

so while everyone was fighting the rift i made a very interesting discovery on an island far from the spawn. more as it develops
edit: let's just say i can never look at chicken the same way again

When 1.3 rolls around I'm going to stay on 1.2.5 for as long as it takes for the most essential plugins to update. It may be about 1-2 weeks so if you wish to keep playing on the server during that time make sure you don't update.

Alright so I'm really interested in this server right now, and I'm probably going to start playing it a lot.
Thing is, I'm used to playing with CJB mod:

Is using CJB mod for the minimap and item info going to get me banned, or do I need to just use vanilla with the john smith texture pack?

Okay, so for no reason my house hasn't seen a zombie in real-time days, all of a sudden, a huge wave of zombies, including a giant, spawns. Walled up my doors with cobble and logged off. Guess who's done playing today, this guy

Defense was a success, though I fell in the lava moat right at the end.

We successfully defended Ironhammer, and Paradox destroyed the cores of the super rift.
There is a lot of damage to Ironhammer, and many peoples' bases are destroyed or severely damaged. In the end my base was attacked by a ghast and a swarm of zombies and I had to barricade everything.
In the end, Thunderbolt's theory was correct -- The rifts ARE being caused by human conflict. There was a war today, and a peace treaty was broken. The rift spawned at a time when we were weak, and we had to join forces to find an army of (I'm guessing here) a thousand or more undead beings.
All I can really say is good job everyone, and thanks to Paradox for destroying the cores while the rest of us held the line at Ironhammer.

That was the strangest rift I've ever been in.
The rest of my faction except me and the primary builder(still don't really agree with them leaving us behind) went to take on the rift single-handedly,somehow they never died(keep in mind it was a SUPERRIFT with 5 obsidian cores to break)and came back as heroes,meanwhile me and Fallot101 were left to defend our tavern's door from shitloads of zombies and later a dickhole who wanted to take over our land when our faction power went low(ie:when our faction members die the power goes down)and just waited outside our base where we couldn't PVP him(note that this was spawn-city land that we needed admin permission to build on afaik).
Later,the rift spawning got insane at spawnland so our tavern got screwed up with giant holes in the wall and I got flooded with about 30 zombie pigmen,lost everything and had to retreat to the spawn keep where I spent a good 30 minutes punching back the zombie hordes and dying repeatedly.
The rest of our faction came back,everyone was cheering them on as heroes and I was apparently kicked from the faction to save it(I had really low power and we didn't want said dickhole to claim our land).Now they're not letting me rejoin the faction until my power regenerates to a high amount(which will probably take a day or so)
I feel like shit now. :(
Should I post the dickhole's name so we can shun him?

Not the best footage, but probably the only video recording of one of the old rifts. This is one from 2011 which attacked the shire (now molten valley, as most of you know it as)
The Shire became molten valley after the rift collapsed and lava and obsidian was spread over the land. Everything you see in the video, like the buildings, are now buried under a deep layer of dirt and obsidian.
The reason I'm posting the video is because today's rift was a "Super Rift", the same kind of rift which destroyed the Shire that day.

How do I chat with my alliance? I've opened a sanctuary for the common passerby and I'd like to ally as many factions as possible.

if just /f c is too slow for you.

I wish Snow Golems weren't disabled. They would be endlessly useful against zombies.

It is. Snow golems are also disabled and wolves are always angry.

What happened to Paradox?
The Glory Pub we have at spawn seems to have been claimed by some other faction and noone else from Paradox is on

They kicked me because my low power from dying alot was dragging down the whole faction's power and if our power is low enough enemies could claim our land,which we wanted to avoid.
