    ok so i want a bunch of hats locked onto a character for the duration of 2 shots, is there a way to do that without having to redo the hats for the second shot?

    What does one have to do for SFM to recognize phonemes on custom models?
    basically, your models need a preset group, in which you have around 35 presets that will be sought after by the lipsync API when you extract phonemes

    it's a matter of making those presets point to the right flexes

    When you're running a desktop app (like SFM), it behaves almost exactly like Windows 7.

    The latest update seems to have broken SFM for me. I can't even open it anymore. When I start it up, it just shows me the SFM logo and goes "Not Responding."

    Windows 8 ins't even one of the supported OS.
    It shouldn't matter, windows 8 is pretty much 7 with a bit of changes, it should support anything that works with vista/7

    Alright here's one to add.

    If you load a project and the camera in the toolmode doesn't update, no matter what you do with it, the only thing you can do is start over. You're fucked.

    What I think the cause is, is the session file somehow gets corrupted with crap and doesn't load the way it's supposed to.

    i watched the lockings tutorial , and i understood how you lock the camera to the target, but how do you do the opposite? lock a target to the camera as in lock the eyes to the moving camera?

    I try to load a custom map yet the screen is black both in the program and in-game, despite having lights.
    After reading the OP the grainy shadows still haunt me. Goddamn you SFM why can't I tame you.

    Also, when making a new animation set for demo model, how can I set his skin to BLU team instead of red? Because it only makes him in red.
    So it turns out grainy shadows go away when the video is paused but come back when it plays(sometimes). As for the other two they are still evading me.

    How can I import custom models without SFM crashing? I've heard it has something to do with SMD or QC files, but the model I'm trying to use has neither of these. I also know that it involves dragging the file onto SFM's studiomdl.exe, but that's about it.

    I have the spy rose attached but when I entered him into a sequence, the rose won't snap onto his collar. Am I missing something?

    I only have rootTransform attached, and the spy does not have a medal_bone.

    I figured out the command line thing, but -sfm_resolution 1080 isn't there. I tried putting -w 1080 because it told me to get a bigger resolution but when I click Play Source Filmmaker in my library, it asks me to open the SDK or SFM itself, then launches SFM with the default command line options which is none. Please help.

    I'm trying to lock the demoman's eyelander to his hand yet it keeps saying "No Dags found!" Does locking work only with cameras or what.

    If your trying to use the Delete key, that won't work. You'll need to right click the objects and remove them from the animation set editor. If you want to delete takes, right click the desired scene and select Cleanup/Takes.

    Alright another problem

    When you click on a player in the animation set editor, then you click, lets say heavy and select "Face" the thing comes up so you can change his face, but when i select it nothing comes up (It used to)

    Use HWM models, not the regular models.

    In the Time selection tutorial when it gets to selecting the camera's movement, no matter how much I mess with the Field of view slider It doesn't zoom in or zoom out or anything, it just sits perfectly still.

    I apologize for this as I didn't read the whole thread but are there any specific steps to getting multiple players working?
    Me and a friend are trying to connect to each other over Hamachi, but there must be something we're missing..I've tried playing with sv_lan and maxplayers but that obviously didn't help...
