I can only imagine what'd be like to have played TF2 on low violence for so long, and then all of a sudden heads are exploding off of necks all around you.

ok why did they change it
It's been in TF2Beta for almost a year.

It was split because the Equalizer as it was was too good of a weapon AND utility. Now people have to choose between having a more powerful weapon or a utility - both of which are based on the user's health.

Source engine changes like this will also take effect in mods like GMod right?
If so, does that mean the whole Call of Duty server DDoS exploit is done with?

To all the dumb ratings, see my post below, made some clarification

I didn't mean call of duty was a source engine game

there's some exploit where you can take, say, a TF2 server's IP, spoof it as your own, and use that to send some data to a CoD server, and being how that game works, it'll send back a much larger amount of data to the IP it recieved from, basically DoSing the TF2 server

was asking if this doesn't happen anymore seeing as it ignores fake IPs now

Devnull spoofs an IP for the Call of Duty servers to send information from. The spoofed IP is generally the target/victim's IP address. The Call of Duty servers have legitimate IP addresses. This Source engine change will not fix an exploit that exists in a different game engine.
