I recently bought a Geforce GTX 680, however it doesn't fit on my motherboard. There are some cables blocking it due to it's huge size, and I therefore need to buy a new motherboard. Any suggestions on which motherboard I should buy, and is there any specific type of motherboard I should look out for? Thanks :)

AMD Phenom II X4 965 @ 3.40 GHz

And yes, it's basically two outgoing cables from the motherboard that's in the way. Been trying to move things around as much as possible, but it simply didn't fit. My case is actually rather large and can fit the card with a bit more room to spare.

The phenom is probably going to be a bottleneck, might be worth upgrading the motherboard+cpu. But if you need to keep the phenom, something like this should work: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157280

Nothing, it's just too far behind and going to bottleneck the 680.

Okay, so I managed to successfully install the GTX 680, but as you can imagine, I can tell my processor is holding it back.

What kind of processor can I get which runs with my motherboard (Model: ga-ma78lmt-us2h from Gigabyte if it matters) and won't hold my graphics card back?

You're not going to get anything much better sticking with AMD, just ride it out and save for an Intel upgrade. The only thing I'd say would be worth getting now is an 1100T, but there'd be no point as it's such a small upgrade from the 965

I like the motherboard Zerokateos suggested. Nice and cheap and capable of holding a shit load of RAM. The processor on the other hand is a bit expensive. Is there any processor which is cheaper, that still won't hold back my GTX 680 and able to run with the z77?
