I've had to re-install my OS a while back because of a damaged hard drive, and since then TF2 has had problems. When I first launch the game the ui is fine, except for the shop button. Whenever I click on it the audio file for clicking on something will stop and repeat for about 5 seconds. Nothing bad, but just different. The main problem is when I load the server list. When I first click on servers, the same thing happens until loads some servers. Then it freezes. I can move my mouse but I can't click anything.

So from there I Ctrl+Alt+del and end TF2. Afterwords I get a message about Hl2 being unresponsive. The same thing happens in CS:S. I can play offline practice fine in both games, look at my items, etc. But as soon as I load the server list the game goes to shit. When I actually get into an online game (Via invite) ,the game runs fine. But when I disconnect the mane menu is still fucked.

    Any help would be appreciated

Have you verified the steam cache? Your computer specs seem really outdated, You should buy a new computer

I made sure they were updated before I posted this thread. They've been up to date for a while now

Revert to manufacture disc drivers instead. Try that.

I think this is a problem with the router or internet connection.

Let me find the support page on Steam

I'm on a laptop with an HD5850 and an i7-720, and I'm having this exact problem. I don't think it's his specs. Those are excellent for an XP.

What about your other drivers? Network for example? This wouldn't explain general glitchyness but makes sense when it comes to network.
Have you tried other online games, how/do they work?
