Unity is a co-op mod for Half-Life 1 that aims to keep the campaign as vanilla as possible. No new monsters or weapons. No dual gold uzis. Just good old half-life the way it was meant to be played but with your friends. There is a demo available featuring the levels from Uplink (It's a little buggy but it's just so i can get bug reports) and progress is moving well on the main story. Check it out if you're interested I'm interested in hearing what facepunch has to say about my little project.

Ooh, I like the sound of this.
Will you be adding extra monster spawns, though? It'd get a bit easy otherwise.. (Not saying NEW monsters, just more of 'em)

I really like the sound of this, me and some other friends were trying to play half life together in sven coop but it was the constant map changing what prevented us from going past the first few parts, so i'm curious to know if you avoided that issue.

Interesting, however I cant shake the feeling this should be done in Half-Life Source, simply because Sven already does this quite well. Just my opinion though.

Well i would have loved to do it for HL:S but it isn't exactly modder friendly.

    Edit:
Alright blast pit is done. I'll admit this one was a toughy due to all the backtracking involved in it.

Is there a system that remembers your health and weapons/ammo through loadings?

I figure that could play a very large role in this

This mod has potential. Always wanted to play vanilla campaign with friends.

Imagine 32 players wreak havoc around Xen..

Nice, I wanted to play Half Life campaign with a friend but monsters took fuckloads of bullets to kill for some reason in Sven Coop so it was more "okay we just wasted 5 mags on some shit." than "WOOP ADVENTURE!".

In other words it wasn't fun. Is it going to have anything like dynamic difficulty like in KF? The more players there are harder the game is?

I would love to add that but i'd need a more competent coder than myself first. Currently you can only pick your skill level.

Glad you enjoyed it. I know the demo isn't perfect but it was pretty fun testing it with friends when i did. The full release will feel much more polished and i may even included a polished up version of the demo.

The amazing thing about this is difficult. It feels so different compare to sven coop where the whole gameplay is just a clusterfuck with no tactic. Here I can finally use handgun for killing a whole squad of grunts.

Question: are you going to add expansions (Opposing Force, Blue Shift) and some popular mods like Life's End or Visitor? That would be cool.

    Edited:
Oh and one thing it needs so players can pick ammo from weapons. It's not like it's ruining the gameplay it's just needed.

I'd only plan on doing such thing when my current project is ready for bug tests.

That's actually a good question that i have considered. At first it will just be normal HL1 but in the future i plan to add the expansions and mods.

I never noticed how silly the non-armed walking animations looked.

I've been taking a little break. Getting my inspiration back. Working. Going to school. I'm not going to lie and say i don't have time to work on it but it would be a chore to if i'm not feeling it but don't worry i'll be sure to get something done with it in the next week. I just need something to kickstart me.
