    Was hoping it would wait till Arma 3 came out and use the updated engine
    well if they're doing the mc method, you can buy it now and still get the arma 3 engine version when it comes out.

    for all we know they might already be doing it with the arma 3 engine.

    If ARMA 3 API isn't exactly the same as ARMA 2's API then moving DayZ to ARMA 3 will pretty much force it's developer(s?) to redo ALL scripting, and I doubt that they're ready to do that.

    It is.. the community alpha for arma 3 is coming out in a week or so.

    No? The worst thing that could happen is some scripting commands become deprecated. Its been the same from arma 1 to arma 2 etc.

    ARMA3 supports SQF syntax (and will also support Java)
    All of the commands that are currently in A2 will be in A3.

    Well I guess I'll buy this as soon as available. Always wanted to try it out, but it felt wrong to buy a game for the mod.
