    Driving recklessly could have killed dozens of people, so I expect that the fact he could have caused a string of deaths is the reason his sentence was so long. Driving offenses do get weird sentancing sometimes, though.
    Actually, in this case, I believe he was put in jail for the string of robberies that he committed with the stolen vehicle.

    Wow, you need quite a good car to outrun a police helicopter then.
    Not necessarily, most helicopters that the police have available top out around 150-160MPH. Their main advantage is the fact that they don't have to follow the road like you do.

    more common example would be the gumball rallys in the early/mid 2000's, especially the ones that went through europe, although I believe they've "calmed down" a bit now.
    yeah, i just love the tiny japanese guy though.

    Yep. We also buy our petrol in litres but measure consumption by the gallon. YOLO!
