I've only just got this idea, but I really like it and want to do something about it.
Long story short, reminiscing about the innocent bliss of childhood and the world that currently exists that comprises of eight year olds wearing COD shirts and having access to the Internet, I came up with the idea of a platformer where the player begins as a tired workaholic who decides to rid the world of these monstrosities (or maybe just his mind?)
The player would start off as a middle aged man with bags under his eyes, and go out destroying all the dirty stuff that exists. At first it would be unaware of the threat (in a tutorial level?) but then grow hostile. At the end of each level there would be some item that would grant some innocence back to the player (maybe an item of his childhood) and make his appearance younger.
Gameplay wise, I'm imagining something like Mega Man in terms of level content, and Super Mario Bros where progression is concerned. I want this to be as challenging as some of those old NES games. In terms of art style, fairly retro, maybe going more retro as it progresses.
These are only concepts, but I'll post any more ideas I get and content when it's made right here! Personally I at least want a hand in level design, art, music and story, but I'm not too good at programming and even those things I am good at would be a load to do on my own, so if you're interested, I'm happy to recruit! I'm kind of new on this front, and I'll accept you whatever experience you have if you want a part in it. If not, please leave your feedback, it will be greatly appreciated, thanks for reading!
