You can do pretty much without editing base classes, you just have to extend stuff and copy paste a lot![]()
Can't really modify the main ItemStack file, or extend it and have Minecraft pick up on it.

I'd love it if they dropped EE from tekkit, it's basically a cheatmode mod. Even though I'd really miss the energy condenser and Swiftwolf's rending gale, it really is bullshit.
Is it just me or do lily pad regenerate or spread on swamp water? I keep seeing new lily pads on places I been before.
EE by itself is a pretty balanced mod I guess, it's just that EVERYONE plays it alongside other mods that allow you to just automatically make AND shove shit into EE's machines to better facilitate the majjicking of shit out of fucking nothing.
It takes a couple of hours digging to get yourself all the basic stuff.
Build a basic power flower and start making stuff out of thin air.
Upgrade your flower until it's making more matter than you could ever use.
Make yourself red tools, armour, rings....
You now have powerful weapons that don't break and armour that near enough stops damage. You can fly, swim in lava, create lava from nowhere, fire billions of arrows. You can create any amount of anything you want, without doing anything.
Basically you can become a god, without a huge amount of effort.

I hope they manage to balance it out for EE3. The concept is neat.
I'd like if EE if the entire concept of condensers, collectors and everything was changed, so you can't make things out of thin air, although you can still transmute items and create the rings etc, so they are actually end-game items.
Removing the EE solar panel things would make it very different and better, as said, you can't just make shit appear out thin air then.

I know people like Tekkit/Technic, but I don't really think it's all that difficult to customize your own install in a significant way from the base without going through the Tekkit menus. MultiMC is a great tool to have multiple modded installs (different mods) if you want that too.
Also, does Forestry still interact funnily with Technic?

And the problem is that since EE is in Tekkit by default, people won't play on your server if you disable it.
People want everything to be ridiculously easy to achieve.

I'd love it if Forge updated to have modloader's toggle mod option file that the Technic Launcher originally took advantage of before the switch to Forge. You could then have EE disabled by default and re-introduce the Crafting Table III, and if a server does decide to switch EE on they can then also disable the CT3 to prevent the various exploits, which would still be perfectly usable (to no great gain given the already very cheaty-cheat nature of EE) in singleplayer if you so wished to use them. It could also work in the future to introduce new mods by having them not load by default until they're considered entirely stable - like the prereleases, it'd be opt-in new features but without limiting those who want updated mods to also use whatever new (and potentially discarded) mods the Technic team throw in.
