I finally have enough money and I want to buy a pre-built computer. I'm looking at the Gamer Scorpius 8000 for $699. I want to know what parts to interchange to get the best deal, I'm pretty new to this "pc building" thing.

My friend just ordered a pre built pc from this website and his doesn't have any issues.

Just because your friend bought a prebuilt doesn't mean you should. You can easily save yourself a bit of money if you build it yourself.
Give me five minutes and I'll give you a good build.

It's possible to build a good gaming pc for $600+OS, but you don't hit great until around $800-$900.

They aren't the worst offenders, but you get screwed on the labor they charge behind the scenes.

If you have a Bestbuy or local computer store like Fry's Marketplace/Microcenter by your house then go check them out. I've given up recommending keyboards/mice because everyone is different in what they like.

You will get better parts for the same budget if you build yourself instead of buying.

Newegg does a great job explaining how to build it. Not to mention your case manual and mobo manual will also tell you everything you need to know in terms of wiring.

I more or less assumed you would use the one in your old desktop. Disk drives haven't evolved at the rate that other hardware has.
