First time getting a new computer, so I don't really know where to start with.
I live in Italy, to be more precise in Sicily, down on the bottom.
My budget is around 500-750€, I already own a 19" screen (1440x900), keyboard and a mouse, so those things aren't really needed, my current pc is really old, so upgrading it isn't really possible.
I plan to play the games on my steam account, such as skyrim, arma 2 and eventually games such as Dishonored and Borderlands 2.
Please post if you need more information on the matter.

A retailer who you can order from would be handy, as prices probably differ a bit.

Oh right, forgot about that, the italian version of amazon should do the job.

Hey guys I don't know much about that kind of thing (and I don't even understand italian) but I found this: http://www.amazon.it/EVGA-NVIDIA-GTX...0118013&sr=1-7

The price is really really suspicious. Is there some kind of bad twist or is it just a huge mistake from Amazon, and if this is the case, should we get it immediately before they fix it?

Also holy shit I just checked, the prices on Amazon are so much higher than on most retailers. And apparently there aren't many proper retailers in Italy. That... sucks major balls.

It's a horrible card and buying it is no more than throwing away money. The price is about right.

If you guys really need a starting point in order to suggest something, I'd start with an Intel Core i5 2500K and something like a GeForce GTX 560 Ti, along with, say, 4 GB of RAM and a 1 TB Samsung SpinPoint F3 HDD. That's part of the build I got here a bit more than a year ago, which costed 900€, but mostly because I got twice more RAM, a SSD and a motherboard which would support using it as a cache memory.

Taking that into account, and the fact that the price probably went down since then, maybe that would fit between 600 and 750€. I have no idea about what motherboard or power supply to get though.

    Also, just found this: http://www.amazon.it/Point-View-GeFo...0400815&sr=8-2
Anything wrong or suspicious about it? Seems quite decent to me. Part of the money is coming from this, so I need to order something that's worth ฃ200 pretty quickly. Might as well get that GPU now if it's decent before the price goes up again.

Why is the price of computer hardware so high now anyway? A bit more than a year ago, I got an i5 2500K for only 160€ and a GTX 560 Ti for 185€. Now everything's like 60€ more expensive.

What is wrong with the thread?
Should I have put an initial build in the op or a better retailer?
Sorry guys, but I really don't know much of the latest pc parts and I hoped you would have helped me with it.
    Just tell me what's wrong.

No, you did everything right. These guys just don't know parts. Also, do you need an OS or a dvd drive?

    CPU: http://www.amazon.it/PROCESSEUR-INTE...0480030&sr=8-1 (126)
    Mobo: http://www.amazon.it/Asrock-Z75-PRO3...0480270&sr=8-1 (91)
    Memory: http://www.amazon.it/CORSAIR-Memoria...480332&sr=1-10 (35)

    HDD: http://www.amazon.it/Samsung-Spinpoi...0480559&sr=1-3 (84)
    GPU: http://www.amazon.it/Sapphire-11199-...0480714&sr=8-1 (217)
    Case: http://www.amazon.it/Cooler-Master-R...0480513&sr=8-2 (45)

    Total: 668

I feel like this price is a bit ridiculous for an i3 build, but then again I don't know Italian pc part costs.

I already have the OS, so go for the dvd drive.
Also, would this be a better choice for a gpu?
I saw that it's on sale, and the price just differs by ten euro compared to the gpu you proposed to me, also free shipping (no really, is it a scam?).

Nope, here's kind of the mental order I think of.

    7870 > 570 > 7850 > 560 ti.

And add this. It was surprisingly hard to find a DVD burner/writer. My 3 years of Latin/Italian clearly did not prepare me for this.

Ordered all the parts this morning, they still had everything in stock, and a few hours ago I got an email that the case was out of stock and the order has been canceled for that one .
Everything else got ordered just fine, I'll get them on the 8th of November.
Do I wait for it to come back in stock or I choose another one?
Still thank you guys, your help was appreciated.

    Edited:

Fuck, another one bites the dust. http://www.amazon.it/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0026N4U9Q
I'll get the second one from the retailer it suggests me tomorrow, I'll wait for all the emails to arrive before doing anything.

You could wait, or you could spend a little more and get this:

    http://www.amazon.it/Antec-Three-Hun...1010528&sr=1-1 (54)

Or spend about the same and get these:
    http://www.amazon.it/BitFenix-BFC-MR...1010575&sr=1-1 (38.5)
    http://www.amazon.it/Cooler-Master-R...010633&sr=1-22 (7.9)

Just turn off the LED on the fan before you install it if you don't want the extra light.

It sucks that I haven't seen this thread before.
With your budget you could've bought the best current LGA 2011 Mainboard and the intel i7 for it.
That means it would be future proof.
Ram would've probably been some Corsair's on 1600mhz.
Power supply Corsair GS700 so that you can later still update and overclock and since it's just like a 10€ price difference from the GS600 it's worth it.

The only reason you'd need intel's i7 is for hyperthreading in which case would not be used unless he plays the very few games that support it.
    -
LGA 2011 is a good socket, but its one generation behind.. how is that so said "future-proof" if future proofing did exist.
    -
RAM doesn't affect performance in a notable perspective at all.
    -
You don't need a bigger power supply to OC -.- ... (and 600w's should be fine for most modern day graphic's cards + the rest of the system, and if he wanted to go SLI /Crossfire he'd need to upgrade from that 700w because it couldnt handle it anyways.)

And last, you are very late sir.

I agree with you on everything except upgrading from the 600w PSU. You could SLI 670's or 680's on a 650w PSU, same with a 7970 or 7950.
