    Alright chaps,

Trying to connect my HP Deskjet F2180 to my laptop. It's plugged in via USB.

Firstly it says not device not recognised, the driver disc doesn't allow you to install because windwos 7 isn't supported.

Googled around and found a driver for it online, it installs and says 'connect your printer', which it obviously isn't recognising.

    Things I've double checked.

    - The printer is on
    - It's all plugged in correctly
    - It works fine on other non Win 7 systems

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

If there's no WIndows 7 driver then it's impossible to use it on Windows 7, blame HP for that

Go to HP and download the dirver. They have drivers even for Windows 8. Here is the link to HP Driver page for it. Make sure and get the right version for it (32 Bit/64 Bit).

I just had a client with an extremely old Canon MFP. In the end he had to buy a new one because he upgraded to Win7 and the drivers didn't exist for it.
