Also this game is great, love it. May not be the Most Wanted sequel people wanted but it sure as fuck is the Burnout Paradise sequel I wanted, a ton of fun and much more varied than Paradise.

I am really trying to enjoy this game, but I just can't.
It's been dumbed down, there is no feeling of accomplishment (remember how you had to get enough money to buy an upgrade in MW? Just win a race and it's yours here. Don't like your car? Just get in another one.), getting busted/crashed has literally no consequence, oh, and that cheesy anti-gravity shit is just icing on this console-port shitcake.
A to accelerate and X to brake? What the the fuck were they thinking.
Pretty much my thoughts.
rofl, I know right? Here I was in the intro, thinking why I'm not accelerating. Went into controls only to be surprised with A and X binds. I was like, "What? This ain't no platformer, don't give me these AZ XC controls."
I like this game to be honest. Better than Hot Pursuit that's for sure.
It is, but it doesn't warrant Most Wanted title. They could call it Carbon 2 or Undercover 2 or Hot Puruit 284 for all I care. If anything, it's an improved Hot Pursuit.
I don't get what is up with that big police car wheel thing? did someone actually think that would be a great idea in the office?
The giant SWAT truck? I was like "whaaat" when I saw that.
WHERE'S MY DAMN HELICOPTER![]()
HOLY SHIT MAYNE LOOK AT ALL THIS CUSTOMIZATION, JUST LOOK:
HOLY FUCKING FUCKNUTS, INVISIBLE BODYKITS AN' SHIT THIS TOTALLY BEATS MIDNIGHT CLUB LA BRO
What the fuck, EA? I can't believe you actually have the balls to strut around calling this generic hunk of shit Need for Speed: Most Wanted. Fuck off.
It could actually be a decent game if they had just been honest and called it Burnout Paradise 2. This is just low.
how to be mad at a good game by judging it by its name
by DudesonFan
Seriously if peoples problems with this game are its name then understand that people want a new Burnout game but the burnout brand isn't as popular as Need for Speed so what are they gonna do.
Merge the two
Burnout is a pretty popular franchise.
It's just Burnout Paradise was shit.
What, how was it in any way shit? It took Burnout and expanded on it in a very satisfying way by adding online leaderboards and multiplayer fairly seamlessly.
Burnout is Burnout and NFS is NFS.
This is like slapping Rainbow Six on a Medal of Duty: Modern Gunshooter.
It's a horrible Need for Speed but a good Burnout.
Online leaderboards and MP were all fine and dandy, but the core aspect of what made Burnout amazing lost it's magic because they decided to make it an open world game.
Burnout always had multiple circuit tracks around 3 cities. Sure, they were closed circuit courses, but they had variety in the world with each map. And well, the closed circuit tracks were just better in every way. Closed circuit racing made everyone go in the same direction, which kept chaos, speed, and difficult in check. You'd always encounter other racers even if you crashed and got left in the dust.
Burnout Paradise completely ruined that by making it free roam. And what's worse, they completely stripped away closed circuit races. It was always sprint racing/point A to Point B. And because they didn't put any barriers during those races, it was just a race to whoever can get to the point fastest. Barely any carnage happened because all players would rush off and go their own way. It even showed this in the SP. The biggest aspect of Burnout, the carnage and combat racing, was dulled down because of that one poor choice.
If they were ever going to make another Burnout game they need to completely forget about free-roaming because it's just unnecessary for a game about racing to have free-roam.
Need for Speed has changed a lot since the original Most Wanted, and it is allowed to explore different types of racing as it has shown in the last 3-4 years and each time they've been alright games but this one has definitely been the best of the recent series. It combines all the right things and is something which the past few need for speed games haven't been, fun.
The problem with this game is that it doesn't live up to the NFS: Most Wanted name. It's an good game, but it's not Most Wanted good
I agree with most of that but it wasn't a bad/shit game because of it, it was the first step onto making a really great sequel which never came until now. This game is the game I've been waiting for since Burnout Paradise, with a satisfying free roam and actual lap races instead of constantly point a to b annoyance. Things like the average speed and pursuit mods in this also provide more variety instead of the burnout paradise one where the singleplayer mode got boring quite quickly.
This game is the perfect burnout sequel, and it shouldn't be panned because its under a different brand name. It must suck for Criterion wanting to make a true Burnout Paradise sequel, but end up getting handed the need for speed brand instead so they make it under that name.
I agree, people are going mad about this game just because they expected an actual follow up to the previous game. But if you look at it on its own two feet, then it is a pretty good game!
This seems ok, but I think the original was better
What makes this even more dumb is that they keep rebooting the series. Hot Pursuit and now Most Wanted. What's wrong with calling it Most Wanted 2? It's like they either think MW1 was bad so they remade it how they envisioned it, or they don't think it deserves number 2 because it's not any better than the 1st.
Ahahaha oh my god what the fuck is this shit lol
this game is so bad that it's actually the first game ever that I'm going to have to try and get a refund for
Edited:
I see need for speed is going down the same shitty cash cow route, I want a REAL need for speed where I can put shit spoilers and 21 inch rims on a Peugeot 107, not some horrible pile of wank that is basically just an advertisement scheme for car manufacturers
what pisses me off even more is that this has been the only game in a good while that have had Porches in it, because EA are milking them fucking dry with their stupid licencing
Hot Pursuit had Porsches too.
yes that's because it's an EA game
I'm actually half-convinced that Criterion was developing Burnout Paradise 2, and about halfway through development EA convinced them to put it under the Need for Speed label to improve sales.
Tell you the truth, I'm rather enjoying this game. As you said, it really is just about everything I would have wanted from a sequel to Burnout Paradise, save for a couple Burnout-specific things (outrageous boost bar, Road Rage, and Crash mode).
What the fuck is going on in that video
A lot of the event intros are fucked up like that.
magic
does anyone of you know if there is a config where you can edit the graphic settings? the graphic settings in-game sucks ass as it does not give alot of options.
The crashes are so boring. I expected burnout-like take-downs where cars just exploded into a zillion pieces.
The car hardly bends, just so lame. RIP criterion, fuck you EA
There's one thing about this game that kills the experience. It's the unfair difficulty when it comes to escaping police. It's not so much unfair as it's just plain fake.
First of all, why are there no "hiding spots" like there were in the original Most Wanted? I'd be fine with that, except for the fact that you can't try to hide period. When you're in cooldown, and you've been driving like a fucking maniac and going through multiple places, thinking you threw them off, and hide somewhere... they find you. I wouldn't mind if maybe they skipped you a few times and then went back and searched but the searching squad drives directly to you no matter what you did to try and throw them off. It's like they know where you are and where you have been the entire time, and are just coded to drive slower but still follow you like you were in a police chase.
Not only that, but police spawn EVERYWHERE. Even RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. How the fuck are you to escape when they just spawn vehicles right in your fucking face and trap you? I'd be fine if these were treated as newly called in search cars, but they too know every trace about where you've been. How the hell can they follow a trail they can't see/never have seen?
Furthermore, this becomes more annoying in the races that require you to escape the cops in a certain time to get 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. First off, why is every single car, even the slow ass Ford Raptor, 2 minutes escape time for gold? The Lancia and the Shelby Cobra were also 2 minutes but at least they were fast enough to escape with. Even worse, the timer doesn't stop when you enter cooldown. Why the hell not? Why make escaping so incredibly unfair with the shit mechanics they implemented into it and then kick sand in your eyes by not freezing the timer?
This game is fun but the whole police-escaping mechanics are just poorly done. And for a game about escaping the police that's a huge disappointment..
Game is pretty neato in my opinion, I don't care much about the customizations. Handling is pretty poor in comparison to previous games, far too realistic for my liking. 'tlooks nice, that's all to say about it. Nice timewaster, nonetheless.
still the best NFS game since a long time ago
EA has a history of doing this.
Medal of honor 2010 was pretty much a bad company with one vehicle and killstreaks.
I finished the game in a couple days.
The boss races are superbly easy. I think they balance to you or something, because I beat all except the last one with the starter porsche (drove an audi for last fight for the fuck of it).
Some of the normal races were harder than the boss races.
But it's really fucking short. I'm still going because I want the platinum trophy...
how fucking high were the guys that made these intros
If its supposed to be there, probably really fucking high.
If its a bug, HOW THE FUCK DID THIS PASS THROUGH?
This confirms it.
All of EA staff is high.
