"Warframe is a new name for an old game. It was a shelved concept we kept coming back to. High-tech machine-gun Ninjas set in a far-future, over-hyphenated, Manga-Dune mash-up. Free-to-play lets us take risks. It allows us to build Warframe with our players."
What is Warframe?
It's a third person coop action shooter where you go around the universe as a faceless horned badass space ninja shooting and slicing people up while using all sorts of different powers with upto 3 of your buddies.

Wow! What about the guys making it? Who are they?
Digital Extremes. They're known for working on titles such as:Unreal, Unreal Tournament, UT2003, UT2004, Pariah, darkSector, BioShock (PS3), BioShock 2, The Darkness 2.
As you can probably tell, they most likely know what they're doing with this!

Awesome! Can I play this on my PlayboxU?
Nope! It's a PC Free2Play game, currently in beta stage. Just like any other F2P title, it'll be run by a cash shop and because it's not a PVP title, you'll be able to buy weapons and other cool things with either in-game cash or real cash.

They were called Tenno. Warriors of blade and gun: masters of the Warframe armor. Those that survived the old war were left drifting among the ruins. Now they are needed once more. The Grineer, with their vast armies, are spreading throughout the solar system. A call echoes across the stars summoning the Tenno to an ancient place. They summon you. Allow the Lotus to guide you. She has rescued you from your cryostasis chamber and given you a chance to survive. The Grineer will find you; you must be prepared. The Lotus will teach you the ways of the Warframes and the secrets to unlocking their powers. Come Tenno, you must join the war.

The Tenno are descendants of an ancient and mystical civilization of lost warriors from the Orokin era on Earth. Preserved in cryopods for centuries, the Tenno now awaken to a new war, fighting and resisting warring factions as the sole bearers of the Orokin-created Warframes. While the memories of the Tenno have faded over time, their mastery of guns, blades, and Warframe exo-armor has not.

Fragments of history suggest that discipline and chivalry are the cornerstone values of the Tenno: is this true today? The Tenno are emerging into a world unfamiliar to them. One sees a noble warrior, building his strength against an oppressive regime. Another sees an opportunistic mercenary, exploiting the Warframe's superiority for wealth. Regardless of their future, the Tenno stand united against a common foe, loyal only to each other.
Vast in numbers, the Grineer have expanded their vile empire from Earth outward to all sectors of the solar system. Once the Grineer rediscovered cloning technology, they seized control of Earth through sheer numbers.

While they may be at the height of power, the Grineer army is in bodily decay and their features are increasingly primitive as a result of continuous cloning. As such, the Grineer are forced to use technology as a crutch for their genetic deterioration. An ideology of hate and discrimination towards the Tenno continues to drive the Grineer forward in the face of inevitable dissolution.

The Corpus are a dominating proto-corporation of humans that maintain and operate the trade routes of the Solar Rails. They are rarely seen by others and are better known for the robot proxies that serve for them. The social structure of the Corpus is said to reflect ancient mercantile guilds from the Old Earth. Their production methods blend technology and ritual, in-part, because the ancient Orokin materials they use are inscrutable to them. They control the entire supply chain of goods that flow through the solar system.

The Corpus view Orokin artifacts as resource to be exploited for profit− at any cost.

    It also costs in-game money.

If an alert gives you an artifact as a reward, it will be listed in the rewards list before starting the mission as a "random reward".

Loki is a little underwhelming tbh, I wouldn't suggest him at all. Especially when a Volt? can just use some huge ass AOE destroying everything around them, just looks more satisfying.

Assuming the game is in beta, it's alright. There is really no cooperative action at all (apart from opening doors together which is srs business), everyone just does what he pleases and most of the time the game goes into a massive "omg omg let me kill with the blade!!!!" mode.
The levels are randomly generated from different chunks of rooms and corridors and last for about 10 minutes. To be honest, I haven't played it a lot but it seems pretty repetitive.

Then I guess it's the best if we organize Facepunch squads. Maybe put all the ingame names in the OP so it's easier to keep track? My ingame name is Eversmann.

Basically he sent me a p/m with a load of shit saying I beg for games and can't afford my own etc, and that I'm the worst gifter ever because I can't afford to gift out 50 euros worth of games, only games on sale.

Fortunately, Warframe is F2P so I shouldn't have to worry.

EDIT: I don't want to derail the thread, i'm just really miffed.

This is really fun with friends, but gets repetitive. The looting and dungeon generation is like Diablo or Torchlight, in a third person shooter format.

It just needs more different environments, all the dungeons I've seen so far have been corridors on space ships. Something with a bit more open space.

Anyway, my ingame name is MegaJohnny.
