    Things about Mega:

    - You will be required to use Google Chrome to use the website. This is because the website has been designed and optimized for best performance on Google Chrome.

Wrong. I just signed up and popped a test file into the cloud using Firefox. It works fine.

They're still drafts, the only difference is that Mozilla's is newer and more flexible, while Chrome's has been implemented for a while and has people thinking it's a standard.

    Look at WebSQL.

Can you state where Audio Data is more flexible, I'm somewhat curious.

In other news Mozilla are working on implementing Web Audio API

Edit: If this demo is anything to go by (comparing chrome and FF), Audio Data behaves correctly when the sample rate of the song is different from your hardware, unlike Chrome.

Audio Data is older and deprecated, the replacement is "Media Streams", which is a generalised version of what Chrome does (A stream can be audio, video or both, etc.). It's still an early draft though so I can imagine implementations taking a while (They also want it to work well with WebRTC and so, so you could get the webcam stream, manipulate it then send it directly over the network, etc.)

So they have only one password box when registering, inevitably typo'd my complex password, and now there's no way to recover or even change (while logged in) my password. Can't even delete my account and start again. A++ service.

I too have this problem , in both FF and Chrome. I have HTTPS working fine. But it stays at "pending" the upload forever (at least during the 5 hours I fell asleep and woke to find it still "pending").

Could someone here give a reason why this is happening? Looks like I am the third person to ask this question. thanks in advance for any suggestions

I registered with a random KeePass password and forgot to save it before copying something else. They say you can't reset your password because you'd never be able to decrypt the files, but I don't have any fucking files. Now I HAVE to use my secondary email address.

    10/10 service.

Anyone else think Mega is a terrible name.

It feels weird saying "Upload it to mega," it sounds like I suck at grammar by not using a noun.

I Think Comcast is throttling my connection, I was uploading a picture of my dog as a test, everything was great for a second or two, now I'm hovering at 2.5 kb/s. Or are they overloaded?

they've been overloaded since launch and they will most likely remain overloaded for the next few days

What about if you have a complex password like I do? What happens if you typo it?

Mega doesn't let you reset the password. atleast put a way to deregister an email address.

But seriously. it is not their carelessness, it is mega's design faults.

Not exactly. I'd have appreciated some warning when choosing my password when signing up, perhaps saying "This is important, seriously don't forget this because you can't reset it". It's not really careless when normally I wouldn't have to be so careful because I could replace the password with another equally secure password.

No. It is an accident if you mistype your password. and mega doesn't have the proper tools to reset your password if you have an ACCIDENT and mistype your password.

    It is mega's fault.

    edit

Also, You make it seem like it's okay to not have a way to reset your password, just because someone mistypes it.

I have forgotten my password. Can I reset it?

Unfortunately, your MEGA password is not just a password - it is the master encryption key to all of your data. If you lose it, you lose access to all of your files that are not in a shared folder and that you have no previously exported file or folder key for.
