Listening in on the conversation using a bug carried by Iron (with a signal boosted by the Sungazer) Alpha nodded. "It's go-time!" Bravo nodded and sent another signal from their dish at the cave a few kilometers away.
The team of special forces readied their laser designator and rocket launcher for the upcoming battle. "Here comes the cavalry."

    -----

A large light began to flash repeatedly on the bridge of the SNV Redstar. Kaspar quickly sat down while Zhaneys assumed command of the fleet. "Attention fleet, it is time. All hands to the battle stations, I repeat, all hands to the battle stations."
The Lord Admiral turned towards one of the bridge officers. "Lieutenant, commence Operation Striking Blow."
"Aye sir, commencing Operation Striking Blow."

One by one the ships, including the Muramasa, received the message to prepare for a mass-jump. Because of the sheer number of vessels jumping in a synchronized order the energy for the jump was quickly evened out in favor of the smaller vessels, making the larger ships push more power into their drives while the corvettes, frigates and cruisers remained ready to swoop in towards the surface and attack.
Inside the ships marines, legionaires and other soldiers readied themselves onboard their designated transports while fighter pilots sealed their cockpits and prepared for the attack command.

The liuetenant looked at Zhaneys. "Lord Admiral, the fleet is ready to jump." Zhaneys nodded. "Helmsman, take us out."

    -----

A massive light slowly grew in orbit around Zyus II. At first it could be mistaken for a star but as the light grew these chances diminished rather quickly. With a bang the Redstar appeared then. The another ship. And another. Suddenly dozens of ships began to jump in, forming up around the battleships Redstar, Mjolnir, Victorious, Full Force and Final Say as well as the carrier SNV Prague.

Several of the corvettes and cruisers began to make their descent towards the surface. Battlecruisers escorted by frigates broke off into a smaller group and sent four MAC rounds for the empty wasteland infront of the primary Creed trenches. While the shots wouldn't outright kill anything they would however distract the enemy.
Meanwhile the corvettes launched at least two hundred OMS drop pods towards the ground.

    The assault had begun.

The explosions echoed all around the base. In mere seconds, every knight, crusader and zealot was on their feet. The patrols were recalled and told to regroup in the trenches. The radio channels were filled with troops wondering what was going on and officers barking orders. The had taken control of the situation in a manner of seconds and were directing their squires and servants to the front lines. There air was filled with a few precious moments of silence before all Hell broke loose on the wasteland and trenches. The SDF and their allies now had the task of holding the fanatics attention so the team inside could do their job.
    ---
Stanislav froze for a moment when he heard the passcode, there was no way he would be here, a few seconds later the explosions could be heard.

Capitalizing on his moment, Seth aimed towards the architect of his recent misery. Revenge was within his grasp. As soon as he squeezed the trigger, he noticed something coming towards him. Something big, mean and with jaws open wide. The hound collided with him and knocked him down on the floor. Not satisfied with just knocking down it's prey, it began a vicious assault, trying to tear out his throat. Only thing keeping it away was the rifle he was using to block it.

At the same time, Stanislav started to retreat. "Intruders in the fort! Put them down, but keep my son alive!" The room started to fill with more troops to reinforce the initial guard inside. The team were now facing an overwhelming force again. Difference is, their foe wasn't as organized and they knew it. The initial defenders already lost several of their number to shots from Iron and Amy. A good start, but the element of surprise was lost .

Amy turned on her suit's cloak and used the moments before their enemy retaliated to pull her brother behind an overturned table. Flimsy cover, but nobody saw them. After some fiddling, she uncuffed him.

The pillars and corners inside the room served as good cover for the team to spread out and force their opponent to divide their attention. Iron took the first few down with ease. The seasoned bounty hunter knew exactly who to shoot to cause the rest to scatter.

Taylor didn't fall behind. First order of business was the hound attacking Seth. It's hide was thick, but it couldn't withstand a concentrated barrage of gauss fire. The creature leapt off it's prey with a whimper before taking another shot that eviscerated it's head. There were a few more shots left before the need to reload and a few unlucky Creed were at striking range outside of cover. Those who turned to red mist were among the lucky ones.

The Boome commander now had another debt to think about. One he was going to repay. He snapped back on his feet and got to cover behind a pillar. Peek, shoot, kill. It was mechanical for him at this point.

Chandler was beginning to lose control of the situation and knew he had to act fast. "Charge them! Overwhelm them!" The remainder of those under him charged with him leading the charge. Before he could make contact with anyone he was knocked off balance by an armored fist. Staggering he looked at who delivered the strike. Of course it would be the lordling! The knight had enough of this. Orders or no, he would put the whelp down. He tried an overhead strike with his sword only to be met with another punch to the throat. He stumbled back on his knee and dropped his weapon. In a state of delirium he could spot his men fall down from the hail of gunfire around them. A knee to the face brought him down on his back. Alex stood over him, sword in hand. No final words were exchanged between the two. Just the sinking of the blade into the knight's neck.

The morale of the remainder of the Creed broke. They started to retreat out of the room. This by far was going to be the easy part. Seth cursed himself for letting Koronov escape. He knew they had to pursue him, otherwise this was going to be for nothing, but they still had the other task to finish. He had to make a call.

"Taylor, link up with the rest of the squad in the ship and take down the command center on the third floor." He looked towards Alex and Amy "Kids, you're with me. We're going to catch your old man before he escapes. Scans showed that there is no elevator, so we're taking the stairs, come on." The three of them raced out of the room, chasing after their target.

Iron shot a straggler twice, center mass. The crusader collapsed. He then turned towards Taylor. "I'm with you, sis."

    ---

Drop pods slammed into the ground violently and before the dust had managed to settle armored OMS troopers emerged and formed a flimsy perimeter around Fort Morningstar. Machineguns and cannons began to sound from the trenches, pinning down several squads while striking those unlucky enough to be caught in the open.

In the distance the SNV Horizon lowered itself, deploying SDF special forces to the ground near Epsilon team. Marine Captain Trudy Smith led a team of grizzled ex-SSMC Force Recon and ex-Army Cavalrists into one of many canyons while Sigma team brought up the rear.
The small elite teams eventually linked up and began to engage several patrols retreating back towards the fort. An Apostle hovertank was knocked out, a gunship caught fire and a pair of trucks were forced to pull over and return fire.

Meanwhile SDF heavy dropships started to deploy ground vehicles farther away from the front. A battalion of tanks supported by assault vehicles, APCs and mobile anti-air batteries prepared to rush the fort despite the risk of high losses.

Taylor watched the trio dart out of the room after Stanislav, before returning her attention to the situation at hand. She reloaded her shotgun, detaching the entire magazine from the bottom with a clunk before slapping in a new one from her hip.

"Sting, Ravis. Time to fight. Four Creed goons are outside Iron's ship. Take them out, then get your asses inside. We've gotta take out the command center on the third floor of the complex." she spoke into her helmet's comms, before spinning the cylinder of shells in the gauss shotty. She glanced to Iron shortly afterwards, before looking around.

"Meet up with Ravis and Sting, and find some stairs. Get up to the command center, break shit, and kill any Creed fucks that get in your way. I'll head downstairs and try to find the POWs. Watch your ass." said Taylor. A moment afterwards, she darted away. Looking for any stairs heading down into the lower levels of the complex.

The Muramasa II began its decent, rapidly dropping through the atmosphere as it prepared to release the Boomes and Valkyrie out into the battle. It was a short, rough ride, but one Eve was talented enough to handle. Soon enough, they arrived down on the ground near where the SDF forces were being deployed to the battlefield. Eve sounded off over the intercom. "We have arrived. Get moving." she spoke, her voice echoing through the hangar.

Within the hidden compartment aboard the Sungazer, Ravis perked up when he heard his name called. Tapping into the comm, he replied, a bit too loudly, "U-understood!" before fumbling with the door controls, trying to get it open. He and Sting tumbled out of the compartment in a heap. "Well, this is it," he said nervously to Sting as they picked themselves up.

He then tried to slap the plasma cartridge that was already halfway inserted into his receiver to prime his rifle like he would an OBV, but the canister flipped out of the opening instead. It clanked against the metal floors as it rolled off into the cargo hold. "...Shit," Ravis said, grabbing another canister from his ammo bag. Slamming it into the receiver, the weapon powered up and began to whine. He nodded. "Alright, let's go!"

Sting laughed as she took out her revolvers, "Ya don't gotta tell me twice bat-boy."

Looking out of the door of the sungazer, Sting could spot the four creed soldiers mentioned earlier.

Jumping out into the door way, she trailed one of her guns per soldier.
"It's high noon, ya sumbitches!" She exclaimed before letting loose the barrage.

When Sting had finished firing and ducked back into cover, Ravis took a different approach by sprinting at the exit and entering into a slide, ducking the enemy's counterattack. He dropped from the door to the landing pad, springing off his good foot into a flight stance and unfurling his wings, leaping inhumanly high into the air while focusing fire on one of his foes. Despite his perpetual clumsiness, gliding flight was one thing which came naturally to him, and he easily proved how he was able to survive infiltrating Vostokrebh when the chips were down. As he dove on his opponent, he wasn't very accurate with his new rifle, but a lucky shot struck the enemy in the neck and shoulder and brought him to his knees. Ravis hit the ground once more and rolled.

Dropships numbering in the dozens filled the skies above the mechanized forces on the ground. Slowly reaching across the horizon the SDF forces formed a wall of steel slowly moving towards the fort currently under siege.
In turn the Creed defenders activated even more defenses. Large plasma cannons and automated laser repeaters came to life and aided the many crusaders and knights rallying at the front.

Apostle hovertanks emerged from hidden hangar doors and were shielded by five gigantic Idris walkers which began to barrage the incoming forces. Prophet gunships took to the skies, quickly dispatching several SDF dropships before going toe-to-toe with their fighter escorts.

    ---

A lone SDF dropship snuck through the chaos right outside the base. Quickly four synthweave ropes were tossed down and Striketeam Ares, followed by Commander Gladius, quickly rappeled down to the ground and began to engage the few enemies not busy manning the trenches.
"Striketeam Ares is on the ground. Moving to support auxiliary elements, over." Reported Ares as the dropship quickly sped away with a Prophet gunship tailing it.

    ---

Knight Sarok barged into the dungeon and entered the holding cell for the SDF POWs. He unsheated his sword and pointed it Mercury and Warren. "What have you done!? Speak heretics, or I shall remove your skulls at once!"

    ---

Iron nodded. "Roger." Quickly making his way through towards the landing pad Iron expected the worst. But instead he found both Sting and Ravis quickly dispatching the platform guards. "Good shooting." He gestured towards the command center. "Let's go, Cap wants us to break stuff."

Taylor eventually found a set of stairs that decended downward, and promptly followed them down. She bumped into a few Creed troopers along the way, one getting a gauss shot to the chest which turned most of his upper torso into a mass of gore rolling down the steps. The rest were a bit more physical, devolving from a gunfight into melee combat.

She swung her shotgun like a baseball bat, clocking a soldier across the side of his helmet as hard as she could (and probably cracking his skull open inside the helmet.) A pair of troopers charged her a moment afterwards, the first being dispatched with a gauss shot to the crotch while the other managed to get his hands on her. He stripped away her shotty, tossing it away and shoving her down onto the steps.

At the bottom of the staircase, the shotty bounced across the floor, forcing some Creed troops to look at it then up the staircase. A moment later, the corpse of a trooper collided with them. The one that had been forcefully castrated by the gauss shotgun. Then, a second corpse fell down the stairs. His helmet gone, and his head twisted almost completely around.

Taylor decended the steps shortly afterwards, her own helmet gone. She now had a busted lip and nose, the result of being punched a few times by the trooper who's neck she broke. In her hands, her sidearm and the machette. As the troopers at the bottom struggled to get the corpses off of them, she fired several shots from the plasma revolver to dispense of them.

"Cock-sucking motherfuckers." she spat, tossing the revolver aside and picking up a pistol from one of the Creed troopers. A kinetic semi-automatic. Relatively large too. She grabbed some magazines off the corpse of the trooper she had taken the pistol from, then continued on. First floor.

Mercury laughed even though it pained him to do it. "We didn't do anything you sanctimonious sack of shit! You did! You fucked up!"
    ---
The Boome's disembarked from the Muramasa and began to push forward to the enemy trenches. While most of the forces were clashing head to head, the mercenaries took a different route, that would sidestep the main line of fire and allow them to flank the defenders. Reaching their position was still perilous, having come under fire, but that would not stop them. Slowly but surely, they came into striking distance to one of the bunkers that was giving the Sol marines over the next hill trouble.
Two of the mercs jumped down in the trenches, followed by another two and then more until all of them were going through the trenches shotguns, smgs and whatever else in hand and began to wreak havoc among their bitter rivals. The fanatics were taken by surprise by the fury and brutality of the mercenaries, but would regroup and begin to slow them down. Just what Orso needed. While the enemy was busy occupied with his brothers, he took his own squad and placed breaching charges on the bunker's doors.

"Blow it!" The boom echoed through the field, followed by them rushing in. Inside they found their disoriented enemy to be easy pickings. One of them tried to be a hero and charge Orso, only for the commander to trip him and sink his blade in the fanatic's throat. After making sure the building was clear and anything of worth could be taken, they exited to join back with the rest of their comrades to continue the push forwards.

As soon as he could, Orso shot a flair into the sky, marking that the SDF could push forwards. He then looked towards his enemy and spotted armored figures redirecting their underlings in the distance. This fight was far from over, but he knew how to shave some time off the clock.
    ---
Inside the palace, the trio of pursuers were chasing after Stanislav. There was only possible way for him to go. Down to the escape tunnel. To get to it, he had to pass through the dungeons, the entrance to which was located on the first floor. To get there, they had to go through the main hall and pass by the two wings where his projects were located. And that's what worried Seth. That Koronov took the time to active those so he could slow them down.

Getting to the ground floor was a challenge of its own. Looks like they were prepared for them. The team were assaulted by a wave of Creed troops looking to push them back up the staircase. Seth and Amy started to pick them off as they climbed up to reach them. Reducing the number they had to deal with. The first defender to get to them was greeted by Alex stabbing him through the abdomen and kicking him down the stairs. The man's body collided with a few others, pushing them further down. Seth took advantage of the clumped up mess of bodies and took aim with his handgun. The Showstopper proved it's name as the controlled explosion took many of the downed Creed out. They continued to got down, picking off whatever stragglers were left behind. On the first floor they could see they still had company. Two of the golems as well as a knight and a few more creed troops. Eliminating them was their only option to proceed, but it was going to take a long time. That's when Taylor joined them from a separate staircase.

"I guess it's good you didn't listen to me. Any ideas, captain?"

One of the tactical officers spun around. "Sir! The Boome Marines have breached the compound and are reinforcing the auxiliary forces. Strike Team Ares is also converging on the main compound." Kaspar nodded. "Deploy the Legionaires directly into the compound, have them storm the control centers and the main bunker batteries."

    ---

The advantage given to the SDF by Orso and his men was not left to waste, several dropships carrying riled up and highly motivated Legionaires quickly deployed their forces alongside two squads of OMS troopers that were rallying on the flare.
One of the OMS squad leaders gestured at Praxaz as he moved up. "Centurion! Push the command center and seize the main bunker batteries, we will assist the auxiliaries."
Praxaz nodded and pounded his chestplate. "Legionaires! Move out, with me!"

    ---

Bullets, rockets and other projectiles filled the skies and riddled the sand. An SDF tank commander buttoned down behind his faceshield ontop of the tank turret. "This worse than the fucking Unification!" He spoke into his headset. "Section! Focus fire on battery alpha, HVX-rounds!"

Several voices on the other side of the line confirmed the order and within moments five of the SDF tanks focused their fire on one of the bunker batteries, splitting it open. SDF marines were quick to charge towards the bunker only to be literally cut down by crusaders armed with swords and pumped full of combat drugs.

    ---

Lieutenant Alyssa Labelle gritted her teeth as a nearby Creed grenade detonated nearby, sending three marines flying with plasma burns all over their bodies. She raised her rifle and fired two quick bursts at the vague silhouettes manning the trecnhes.
"Squad! Keep pushing!" Simonov cursed, kneeled down, capped one of the crusaders and moved. "We're with you LT!"

Alyssa ducked down into a crater with Simonov joining her. Deploying the bipod on his DMR he began to hunt for Knights and other high-value targets. Alyssa on the other took a moment to observe the chaos above.
"They better have a plan for all that shit up in the sky."

    ---

Sarok slapped Mercury across the face with the backside of his metal glove. He spit on the floor. "Disgusting traitor, how dare you dishonor my name?" He placed the blade of his sword on Mercury's throat. "I will put you down like the unholy rabid dog you are." Sarok shook his head. "You're not even worthy of being called a dog, at least they know their place."
While Sarok was distracted by Mercury's quick mouth Warren started to look for options. Maybe one of Sarok's henchmen? Warren gritted his teeth and tried to pull his hands through the metallic cuffs holding him in place.

Sarok looked up. He grinned. "What is this? Is the other worm trying to escape?" The knight leaned in towards Mercury to the point where he could smell him. "Maybe I will have a chat with your friend first, heretic."

"I guess it's good you didn't listen to me. Any ideas, captain?"
"We fuck 'em up. There's an armory on this floor, right? I'll need to get to it." she said, looking to their opponents. She looked around, trying to remember the layout of the floor they were on. The armory was probably across from where these Golem guys came from. Which was behind them. And these guys appeared to have flamethrowers. "Cover me." she said, before rushing towards the Golems. As she darted across the room, the Golems held their ground till she came near. Then, the first took a massive swing at her with his off hand. It caught her across the shoulder, sending her spinning as she stumbled by. "AUGH FUCK!" she spat, attempting to straighten up. Then there was the second Golem. His flamethrower had been primed moments before, and as she approached he unleashed its intense flaming fury.

"ShitshitSHITSHIT--" she shouted as she attempted to outrun the arc of flames shooting from the weapon in his hands. She was successful, though, as she bolted past the behemoth and rounded the corner into the Engineering Wing of the complex. Inside were a handful of Creed troopers. Lucky for her, they weren't expecting her. She opened fire with her pistol, plugging a few of the troopers before her before coliding with the remaining few. A brawl ensued, she taking a beating just as much as they were. But she would come out on top, shooting most of them with her pistol before resuming her mission to get to the Armory.

Soon enough, though, she found it. Weapons lined the walls while some sat on large tables next to copious amounts of ammunition. Perfect. She searched about, till a large rifle caught her eye. "Holy shit." she said aloud, stepping over to the weapon as she holstered her pistol. Before her, on the floor, sat an Upyri anti-vehicular railgun. She had only seen one of these weapons twice, both in the service of mercenaries. She pondered for a moment why the Creed would have an Upyri weapon, but just settled on the idea that 'if it kills, they could use it'. She also remembered as she attempted to pick it up that the weapon was fucking heavy.

"Come on, baby. COME ON." she said, trying to lift the weapon up. Normally, it took two people to carry the weapon. One of the downsides of the weapon itself. She was strong enough, though, that she could probably lift it herself and use it. If only for a few shots. After three tries of trying to lift it, she finally managed to. "THERE we go. Fuck, you're heavy." she muttered, before letting the barrel rest on the ground as she cocked the weapon. A loud CHU-CHUNK sounded off, signifying the weapon was now primed and ready. She lifted the barrel back up, then slowly marched out of the armory as she held it at her waist. She strained to hold it up, veins bulging in her neck and arms (now visible as some of her armor had been ripped off in the fight outside the armory.)

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Outside, Valkyrie continued on with the Boomes, slaughtering any Creed troopers she came across with a bit of laughter. She was enjoying every moment of this, practically executing any troopers that decided to take a shot at her or were unlucky enough to survive the Boome onslaught. Eventually, she linked back up with Orso and his squad as he fired off a flare to signal the SDF to move up. "This is fucking great!" she said, with a chuckle. She then noticed what Orso was looking at a moment later. More Creed troops in the distance, some wearing a bit more armor than the others. "More unlucky saps to gut." she said with a grin.

    Cover me.
Taylor didn't give them much time for another plan, so this was going to be it. The golems were distracted with trying to catch her that they didn't notice the Boome slide behind them. Seth fired off several shots towards one of them. The bullets didn't penetrate the gas tank on his back but it punctured the cables carrying the liquid, causing them to spill everywhere, coating his armor and floor with flammable liquid.

"Aw hell no!" The giant exclaimed as he dropped the flamethrower and charged the mercenary to deliver a punch. It was so strong, it knocked Seth's helmet clean off and knocked him off his feet. The giant recognized him "Well well, look who it is. Remember me, punk?"

"A big pile of shit like you?" Seth spat out a tooth. His vision was going blurry, but he was starting to see shades of red. "How can I forget?"

"I'mma knock that smartass attitude out of you, just give me a second!"

Meanwhile Amy was preoccupied with dispatching the remaining Creed troopers. They haven't caught on to the fact who she was, so they tried to eliminate her with extreme prejudice, forcing her to think for her own well being before she could assist anyone from her team.

"You break your father's heart and side with his sworn enemies against him! Were he not so forgiving, I would have hunted you down long ago, Alexander!" Ser Ross yelled towards the last remaining team member.

"Ever believing he is a man of any virtue, huh Ross?" Alex eyed him up "What's it going to be? Are you going to try to make me see the error of my ways? That it's not too late?"

"No, son." The knight unsheathed his sword "You crossed that line long ago. I'll do what your father never could." He took several steps forward. "I can only hope that he will forgive me later." Ross raised his blade to block the coming strike. Unlike the previous knight Alex fought and killed, he was well aware who his opponent was and what he could do. After all, he trained him. Their blades collided again and sparks flew.

The golem gripped Seth by the neck and lifted him up "Let's squeeze that tough guy shit right out of you, sucka!" The grip was strong enough to start cutting air off. In his head, Seth hatched a desperate ploy. He reached for his sidearm. An action that was caught by the giant "Ahh, hell no!" He gripped his hand and lifted it up "You thought you could sneak that past me or something? You think I'm stupid because I'm this big?"

"No." Seth spat out and a sadistic smile formed on his face. The ploy had worked. His other hand was holding his knife. Forged with saronite, just like the one he gave Yanim two years ago. Capable of cutting through most materials like they were paper. He viciously began to stab at his tormentor's arm. The giant screamed in pain and loosened his grip. Seth fell on the floor, but quickly got back up, carried by adrenaline, he jumped at the golem and gripped the collar of his armor and began to stab at its weak spots with enough savagery that the final strike broke the blade in the neck. The golem tried to use whatever strength he had left to pull the blade out, but it was all for nothing as he bled out. That was one down. Seth thought as Taylor entered the room again.

    More unlucky saps to gut.
"Looks like it. And that one looks important." Orso looked at Valk. How the hell did she avoid any serious injuries so far was beyond him, but then again, his kind was infamous for their luck. "Let's go and say hi."

The Boomes started to push forward through the trenches, now with the SDF helping them move forward. The distance between them and the knight leading these fanatics was shrinking by the second and it looked like he had noticed. With little regard, he had jumped inside the trenches, bringing a power sword down on a mercenary. He wasn't alone as his squires jumped down to help their master. Orso cursed under his breath, pulled out a machete and gave the order. "Melee!"

As Taylor marched through the archway back into the main hallway of the first floor where the others were, she saw Seth take out the first Golem. Meanwhile Amy fought through the regular Creed troopers while Alex was brawling with the Knight that had been leading them. That left only the remaining Golem. She lifted the gun a bit, bracing herself as she took aim at the Golem.

"HEY, DUMBFUCK." she shouted, attempting to get his attention. The Golem stopped his march towards Seth, turning to face her. He froze the moment he saw what she had in her hands. "SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND." she barked, before pulling the trigger.

What followed was a bright flash of blue and white, near blinding anyone that happened to be looking her way. The weapon kicked back, the entire weapon jerking Taylor backwards while the barrel forced itself downard to bounce off the floor. She almost dropped the damn thing entirely! But it did exactly what she wanted it to do.

The shot darted across the room at a speed no human eye could comprehend, but its damage was VERY evident. It literally tore through the air, creating a miniature explosion as it collided with the Golem's shoulder and punching completely through. His arm was annihilated, being torn into bloody chunks by both the impact as well as the explosion, as part of his armor and upper torso was also blown away. It forced the Golem into a spin, twirling him around till he collapsed to his knees. One shot was enough, as he was now bleeding profusely out of what was left of the left side of his body.

But Taylor wasn't finished. She cycled the bolt of the weapon yet again. CHU-CHUNK. She hefted it up once again, and fired a second time as soon as she could train it on the Golem. Center mass. She pulled the trigger. Again, a blinding flash, intense recoil, and an explosion from the shot hitting the Golem. This time, his entire body was obliterated beyond recognition, leaving only the bloody stumps of his legs to show where he had been.

    "Melee!"
Melee, eh? Valkyrie's grin got bigger. She holstered her weapons and drew out her plasma sword. She clicked a button with her thumb, and the sword lit up, bathing the area around her in a green glow. It was time to slice and dice, and that's just what she did. As the squires charged them, the brawl began.

Valkyrie used the training Alex had given her quite well, cleaving through trooper after trooper in an almost enraged barrage of saber swings and cuts. She did get cut a few times herself, nick across the arm, slice across the leg. A few screeching scratches across her chest plate. Hell, one of them even managed to PUNCH her. That didn't go over to well. She punched back, repeatedly. Even riding him down to the ground and continuing to punch him until his face was a mangled mess of flesh and blood.

She finally climbed off after a moment, then continued on, catching back up to where Orso and the others were.

Meanwhile, on a planet closest to Karbala.

Sunny day, beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky to block it's light. Rivers of pure blue flowed down waterfalls on cliffs high above the trees. The wind's song played throughout the land as it blew through the forest and over the grass of the plains. Nothing was out of place, nothing skipped a beat. For the Artisynth, it's anyone's guess as to why they chose to settle on Karbala, and not here. Though for any unfortunate potential colonists, they end up being greeted their homicidal neighbors rather quickly. And even if everything appeared to be in tune, the presence of outsiders came to disrupt it all as the shapes of three men covered the land as they walked upon it, hiding it's beauty in their shadows.

Chemosh, Moloch, and Beherit sat on a cliff, enjoying a picnic as they looked at the grassy plains beneath them. Each of them were taking in the sights, the sounds, the sensations, taking it all in as much as they could as it reminded them of the land they once called home.

"[I remember, long ago, the Holy Father and I walked along a riverbank just like that one over there.]" said Chemosh, lifting his head as he felt the wind blow against his face. "[Looking at it almost makes me feel as if we're on Earth again.]"

Moloch agreed. [It really does, doesn't it?]

"[Not really.]" snarled Beherit. "[I see no disgusting infidel creatures ruining such a beautiful scene.]"

Moloch gave out a little laugh. "[Oh you only think of the negatives, Beherit! Earth wasn't entirely a devious cesspit, you know.]"

"[Still, there is indeed no place like home, no matter how horrible it was.]" Chemosh bowed his head, and a silence among the three ensued. "[...Don't you wish you could do it too?]"

"[Wish to do what?]" asked Moloch.

"[I wish I could turn back time, to the good old days. Back before we were driven from our homes, before the land we used to call home became the decadent and wretched godless empire it is now!]" Thinking about it made Chemosh angrier. "[How I wish I could just do it. How I wish I could just press the button to wipe out their race and their sordid history, how I wish I could just send every single last one of them straight to hell! Every brutish man, every whorish woman, and every disgusting little maggot child! That planet Earth, as it is EARTH and not as they call it Terra, is OURS! We're the rightful heirs to it! We're the ones God had chosen to have dominion over it! Not them!]"

"[Easy, Chemosh. We are in the process of doing just that now that you've returned.]" reassured Moloch.

"[Well I say we aren't acting fast enough! Those infidels breed faster than they can think, so we need to attack faster! And we should never stop, not until the last remnants of their godless empire is nothing but ashes under my boot! Inshallah!]"

Moloch simply looked on and pulled out his hookah from his pack as Beherit gave an ovation at Chemosh's mini speech. "[Mashallah! Mashallah!]" he clapped.

As a fire formed at the tip of Moloch's finger, it caught Chemosh by surprise as he stepped back cautiously. "[You know, you still have not told me how you do that.]"

"[Oh, it's a blessing from Allah! He has granted us a partition of his might as a show of gratitude of our service to him.]"

He didn't buy this answer at all. "[Then how come I am not blessed?]"

"[He brought you back to life, hasn't he? He has brought you back to us! Of course he has blessed you too, Chemosh.]"

Beherit shook his head as Moloch tried to conceal the real reason why they both had psychic abilities. "[Moloch, why not tell him the truth?]" Chemosh folded his arms as he expected an answer.

"[Ah, the secrets of obtaining these abilities is not something you'd like to know, Chemosh.]" Moloch replied.

Beherit thought differently. "[Oh, Moloch, Chemosh is the hero and leader of our people! Who are we to hold secrets from him?]" Chemosh nodded in agreement with this.

"[And if I am to lead you, I need to be stronger and more powerful!]" He stood up firm, standing tall in front of them both.

The thoughts of Chemosh going through what he and Beherit experienced in the cave worried Moloch greatly, and he really wanted to spare his friend from the same fate. "[I'm not sure if-]"

But Beherit cut him off. "[I will show you, Chemosh! All the things we can do, you will do too! Behold! Come and see!]"

Eager to show off his abilities, Beherit grabbed Chemosh and made him stand on the cliff's edge. As he did, Chemosh began to notice something very odd happening on the field below. Each individual blade of grass paired with another to take the shape of a stick figure, and large ornate buildings made from the soil rose from the ground to which the grassy figures began entering and walking around in. A tiny metropolis, forged from plants and soil, encompassed the field now. Chemosh was mystified by this, but before he could say anything, Beherit had climbed atop a nearby tree. He swung one arm forward, and with it came a storm of fire raining down on the minature city. All of it went up in flames. The grass figures caught fire and slowly withered to death as the dirt buildings crumbled to the ground. Nothing was left but ashes soon after.

Shaking and trembling, Chemosh was in awe. It took several seconds before he could speak. "[How are you doing this, Beherit?!]"

"[Don't worry! You will find out soon enough!]" he shouted.

On the other hand, Moloch wanted to raise objections against this idea, though deep down he really would like for his best friend to be a sorcerer just like him. At the very least, he'd like to stand next to Chemosh as they venture into the heart of Karbala, just in case if something goes wrong. But the very thought of something indeed going wrong just gnawed at him, eating him from the inside like a hungry beast.

Every sorcerer, every ayatollah, and every artisynth would have to be present and ready to assist in the event the process goes completely awry.

"Maybe you should go fuck yourself instead?" Mercury spat out
    ---
Seth stood up and narrowed his sight to the remaining Creed taking shots at Amy. Getting a grip of his gun again, he aimed and started shooting. Several of the fanatics exploded before he ran out of shots, but it was enough to get their attention. The lady could take care of the rest.

Taking advantage of the opening she was given, Amy cloaked and began to move as quickly as she could. She reappeared a few moments later behind cover and lined up her shots just right. Shots rang out all through the hall. Not as loud or grandiose as the others, but enough to bring several fanatics down.

The Creed began to break apart from this onslaught. Their numbers dwindling and their heavy hitters were dead. The remainder began to run, seeking cover towards anywhere the thought could over. Be it the garage, the golem wing or the dungeons. Their morale was broken and they knew surrender wasn't going to be an option.

"Is this who you choose to surround yourself with? Savages and scoundrels?" Ross slashed at Alex, but missed by inches. He took a step back to dodge the counterattack.

"Better with them than mass murderers!" Alex responded and pressed on the attack. Ross sidestepped the jab and moved to cut off his hand, but Alex barely managed to pull it away in time. Taking a step back to increase the distance between them, the former pit fighter observed his enemy. Swordplay wasn't going to bring him down, so he had to think of something else.

Not wanting to give his opponent time to think, Ross swung his sword for an overhead strike. Alex blocked again but, he knew what came next. Ross brough the sword down again and again in an attempt to beat him down. He lifted the sword up again and a shot rang out, mangling his fingers and making him drop his weapon.

Alex looked behind for a second and noticed Amy had taken the shot. A brief smile formed on his face before turning his attention back to Ross. The knight was kneeling down, looking at his deformed hands. He said nothing. Not even when his helmet was taken off. He knew his end was near and he would face it with whatever dignity he had left. Alex delivered the final strike to end the knight's career. Quick and painless.

Observing the carnage in the room, Seth contacted Iron over comms "We're nearly at the dungeons, you guys making progress?"
    ---
Outside the battle raged on. Knight commander Joseph looked around the field to take in the carnage around him. The heretics and abominations had joined together again to fight them? Then he would welcome them the only way he knew befit them. With fire and blade. It is why he jumped in the trenches and now led the charge. If he was nicknamed dashing by his peers and subordinates, he would live up to it.

He kicked an SDF trooper off his sword and continued to push forward. His power armor shielded him from the fire coming his way and his squires made sure the enemy had a hard time focusing on him. Not too far from him, the mutants had engaged in melee as well. Now this was getting interesting. While directing his men forwards, he spotted someone among the enemy. A very peculiar woman, swinging around a plasma blade. A pirate or ganger by the looks of it. She would be an easy warm up kill.

"I see the mutants started recruiting the whores in their ranks!" He bellowed "From which decadent slumm did they drag you out of?"

Sarok gritted his teeth. He backed up and readied his sword. "Now you die, filthy heretic." Warren watched as the Knight held his blade up into the air. A strike was imminent.

    ---

The SNV Texas flew in close proxomity of the fort while barraging the defenses on the ground. "Gunners, target the eastern batteries. Fire at will." Ordered the captain from his seat. At the same time the main cannon was readied and fired a powerful high-explosive round at the fort, causing it to shake violently.

    ---

Sarok attacked just as the entire compound began to shook. If there was a God out there, he or she had just given Mercury a second chance as the blade struck one of the metal cuffs instead, releasing Mercury's right hand.
As Sarok realized his mistake, so did one of his bodyguards who moved in from the side while sacrificing distance. This proved to be a horrible mistake as Warren grabbed the crusader by the neck using his two legs.

    ---

Praxaz and his Legionaires emerged next to Valkyrie and Orso. Letting out warcries in several different languages the soldiers quickly joined the fighting. "Forward!" Yelled Praxaz as he began to engage the crusaders pouring into the corridor. He looked at Orso and Valkyrie. "Move, the Legionaires will take this hallway."

    ---

Iron took the lead and began to advanced towards the control center while followed closely by Ravis and Sting, with the latter making sure that there were no "sneaky subitches" behind them. After exchanging fire with a couple of lone Crusaders the group found themselves outside the reinforced doors of the command center. "Yeah, we're right outside of the command center. Give us a minute or two." Replied Iron as Seth contacted them over the comms. The bounty hunter examined his companions. "Sting, you take point. Ravis, I want you covering the right. I got left."

"I see the mutants started recruiting the whores in their ranks! From which decadent slum did they drag you out of?"
Valkyrie looked around, a bit of blood staining the side of her face from where a Boome had cleaved one of the Creed trooper's head from his shoulders next to her. The apparent commander stood in the distance, directing his men in the fight. She shrugged off Praxaz's statement, paying attention only to this Knight. "Whores, eh? Only whores I see around here are your men, because they look like they're getting proper fucked!" shouted back Valk, before heading towards the well armored Knight.

He was wearing power armor, it seems. Much better protection than what these troopers and squires were wearing. She stomped through the mud of the trenches, stepping over corpses and body parts and pushing past men that were still fighting. She slashed at a charging crusader, cleaving him from shoulder to hip, before pressing on towards the commander.

"And nobody dragged me from ANYWHERE, dickhead. I'm here at my own free-fucking-will." she continued. Valkyrie had a new target.

Taylor cycled the rifle yet again, as she turned her attention to the rest of the battle occuring in the hall. She considered keeping this rifle, or at least finding another like it somewhere. She was enjoying shooting it a bit too much. She watched as Seth, Alex, and Amy took out the rest of the troopers and the lone knight leading them. She marched a bit farther out into the hall, still carrying the large railgun, before noticing a cluster of troopers in the Golem section of the hall. More targets.

She took aim, pointing the rifle again and pulling the trigger. The rifle flashed again, creating a thunderous crack of sound and recoiling back, forcing her to stumble a bit again. The shot ripped through the air once more, colliding with a pillar just inside the archway to the Golem section. The pillar was obliterated, annihilating the troopers that had been standing behind it in a fine red mist. The sheer force of the impact knocked the troopers that were running by down.

The shots were starting to take their toll on Taylor, as she was't wearing her power armor. She had to drop it. The weapon clacked to the ground, as if she had dropped massive weights from a weight bench. She shook her arms, trying to relieve some of the pain, before drawing out her pistol yet again. "Well, that was fun. I'll get the POWs out. You three go get Stanislav." she said to Seth as she strolled over.

Elsewhere, in transit to Domino Station...
"Well that fucker finally shut up." said Miranda, sounding a bit irritated. The smuggler they had been hunting on Trixina hadn't stopped talking since they caught him. And it had been starting to get on her nerves...to the point where she finally knocked his lights out. He was now sitting unconcious in his cell in the back of the Cornell, handcuffed to the wall.

"I know. I saw you punch him on the camera feed." said Lex, looking up to her. Miranda cut her a look. "He just wouldn't stop talking! About how he was innocent, and nothing he stole would hurt anyone, and that I should let him go...for christ's sake, he even tried to sell me a new set of rosary beads when he saw mine dangling out of my pocket."

"Sounds like he's more of a thief than he is a smuggler." said Lex, sitting back in her chair. She returned her attention to the holotablet in her hands, as Miranda sat down in the pilot's seat. "So what's new? Any news on that shit on Prospera?" she asked, glancing over to Lex as she drew a cigarette from the Camel pack on the dash before her. "Yeah. Quite a bit actually." said Lex, before tapping her tablet a few times and showing Miranda a video of the explosion at the Diamond Lady.

Miranda raised her eyebrow. "Holy fuck. Who did it?" she asked, pausing for a moment before lighting the cigarette she had slipped into her mouth. "Most say Creed. A bounty went up for a 'Unknown Religious Zealot' about an hour after the blast. Wanted for Terrorism, Mass Murder, and so on. I sent it off to our new Kanad recruit to see if he wants it."

"Well, good luck to him. I swear these fuckers aren't exactly helping Sol change their minds about religion..." said Miranda, taking a drag from her newly lit cigarette.

Mercury used his chance to get a hold of Sorok. Jerking the crusader by the collar, Mercury slammed him against the wall next to him. Then he moved his hand behind Sorok's head and began to pummel him into the wall.
    ---
Well, that was fun. I'll get the POWs out. You three go get Stanislav.
"We're going the same way, then." Seth responded before motioning for them to go down to the prison area. Once they descended down they could see a fork in their road. One way lead straight to the POWs and the other was in the form of a passage that was recently opened in the wall by a mechanism. They didn't have to wonder where the tunnel could be at least. On the ground they could see spots of blood leaving a trail to follow. Did they actually manage to land a grazing shot at him?

"Kids, you go get your old man, if that blood is him, then he's hurt and if you're luck, slowed down. I'll help Taylor get those POWs out." The two nodded and hurried down the tunnel. Seth turned back to Taylor. "Mind if I take point on this one? I think I'm less banged up."
    ---
Further down the corridor Stanislav hurried as much as he could to the other end. The blasted bounty hunter had managed to land a shot in his leg despite the hound's sacrifice. The pain was getting worse but he couldn't stop now. They were probably hot on his heels. Sol, SDF, the Bureau, whoever send them, they were prepared and nearly got him in their trap. He had to be more careful in the future, yes. And those who went after him would learn the true meaning of regret once he was safe. Just a little further.
    ---
And nobody dragged me from ANYWHERE, dickhead. I'm here at my own free-fucking-will.
"Well if it's fight you wench, you got one! Allow me to be the last man to skewer you!" Joseph readied for Valk to attack him. This was turning out to be a more interesting fight than he first anticipated.

"After you, then." said Taylor, with a smirk.

"Well if it's a fight you wench, you got one! Allow me to be the last man to skewer you!"
Valkyrie grinned wildly. She had been wanting an actual fight, and she was about to get one. "Pop out of that bullshit you call power armor, then! Fight like a REAL man so I can beat your ass RAW." she shouted in response as she continued to near. She sliced through yet another crusader, before finally getting into charging distance.

And charge she did. She gripped the sword tightly as she ran, but did the unexpected. She threw her pistol at him with her off hand, hurling the weapon towards his face. Better than that old trick of kicking dirt or sand in his face.
