Geez, a year and a half hiatus.
And I thought Ava's Demon hiatus was long as fuck.

One comic I'd love to see actually updated is Outsider because hard sci-fi makes me hard.

Too bad there's only like one fresh page every year because he likes to model a new ship interior every other scene.

Yeah, but after getting a steady stream of story and development, waiting even a day or two for updates is killin' me, Smalls.

I have a folder for webcomics that have a slow update schedule, update infrequently or that are on a hiatus.

I made it because it was painful to check in on my webcomic bookmarks folder and go through the same entries that hadn't updated in a year.

As a general rule, if it hasn't gotten a new page in a month, it gets tossed in that bin.

It has 64 items in it so far...

    Edited:

That reminds me, next weekend is the Toronto Comic Arts Festival which I'll be checking out. Even though it's an 8 hour drive from here...

It's not a con as it takes place in a public space and it's free (so no cosplay or anything) but I'll probably take a few pictures of some artists I like if I can.

I was even thinking of interviewing a few of them if I'm able to (and if they're willing/have the time for it).

The one I'd like to interview the most is the creator of Wilde Life as there is such a dramatic increase in the quality of the comic compared to his last one.

Okay, so I got really lucky and I was able to interview like 8 webcomic artists I liked at TCAF.

I apologize for the shit mic quality and amateurism on my part, I wasn't exactly prepared to do these. I assume my voice will get grating after a while.

An interview with the extremely talented Meaghan Carter, author of Godslave.

An interview with the fascinating Joshua Barkman, author of False Knees.

An interview with the incredible Kory Bingaman Francka, author of Skin Deep.

An interview with the cool Samantha Leriche-Gionet, author of Boumeries.

An interview with the creative Pascalle Lepas, author of Wilde Life.

An interview with the formidable Peter Wartman, author of Stonebreaker.

I feel like the newest page of Poppy 'O Possum really does a good job of summing up the main themes of the webcomic.

i can't believe poppy 'o possum is fucking dead

Well folks, thatís ďitĒ for Poppy as a comic. Starting with Poppy 8ís cover on September 8th, Iíll be transitioning the series to a web novel medium, updating every Monday and Friday with 1000-2000 word updates accompanied by illustrations. I know it might seem disappointing now, but try to bear with me for a bit, and Iíll try to make it worth your time.

For anyone worried about the visual element of the story disappearing, donít be. Iím just cutting out all the chaff that comes with long-form comics, like so many panels where characters stand around talking. Youíll still get all the weird character designs Poppy is known for. And the comical reactions. And even some storytelling told through sequential panels and full-page comic updates here and there. In my eyes, the text still exists to complement the drawings, rather than the other way around.

In any case, I want to thank everyone for sticking with me this far, and I hope youíll continue to enjoy Poppy regardless what may come.

    -I. Everett
    Well that's extremely disappointing.

Okay, so the first novel page of Poppy is up for chapter 8 and while I'm still disappointed it's not as bad as I thought it would be. There's are still a fair amount of illustration done and the text is well spaced and easy to read. If that's the way it's going to move forward I might stick with it.

Boy, Zack sure is making a lot of excuses for updating Paranatural.

    Edited:

Do any of you buy webcomics by the volume? I'm starting to think it might be worth it compared to the grind of checking back every now and then to see the next 3 seconds of a 15 page action scene.

Could just do like me and have a folder specifically for comics that update less than once a month.

Yes, there's 65 items in it so far and I haven't cleaned up a few other ones that should go in there soon.

For those of you who follow KSBD, I got to meet the author at a small group meetup, he was a super cool guy. He brought along some graphic novels and a few of his sketchbooks to show people and we talked about the upcoming book, among other things.

You know, I didn't think I'd say this but I really like the new format for Poppy 'O Possum. Each page still has a good quantity of drawn panels and the text isn't too dense. My initial worry was because in the past when they were still doing full-drawn pages, they made a few bonus side stories. Those had very few drawn panels and a LOT of dense text and I thought they were just going to use that format, which isn't the case.

And yet, despite the reduced workload and supposedly rekindling his love of his webcomic by switching formats, he still can't hit his deadlines.
3 updates into the new format and I've already given up on him again. He hasn't learnt a thing.

I only just found this thread and wanted to take a moment to talk about my favourite on-going webcomic right now, Devil's Candy.

The comic revolves around the students of Hemlock Heart Academy, primarily Kazu Decker and his frankenstein biology project, Pandora, trying to get through the day in a school that just can't stay normal (as normal as a school in a world populated solely of monsters and demons can be.)
The comic's presented on beautifully hand-drawn pen and ink while also managing to be on a consistent update schedule and I highly recommend people check it out!

Well we're getting a bit more plot per page and it's still updating more than once a month so it's an overall improvement to me.
