Hello fellow people of this world. I seem to be having issues with GC causing lag spikes at around 10-20 second intervals and it's driving me mad, I don't know what's causing it. What could potential causes be? I'll share more info if anybody needs it to help diagnose my problem.

Garbage Collection, runs whenever memory starts to fill up.

Uh, yeah. I know it's garbage collection, but I'm not sure why my GC is making my game lag so much.

Garbage collection is a seperate program on its own right? Thats probably why you're lagging. When it tries to clear memory, GC will use memory along with it. Just use Advanced SystemCare.

What are you guys on about?

Lua garbage collects to free ram by cleaning up inaccessible objects. It's always running and steps at an interval to check what data is still used. If it is lagging you then you have some horribly coded addon or too many addons eating up your ram.
