OLStacker
by Greg "OverloadUT" Laabs
v2.2

Download: OLStacker_2.2.zip
This STool is included in my STool Pack.

Overview

This is a STool that makes stacking props very easy. Simply fire at the prop you want to stack and there will be a perfectly aligned duplicate prop on top of it. You can choose to stack in any direction, and if you want it stacked relative to the world or the prop. It also has special support for PropDefender so that your duplicated props will be owned by you.

Installation

Extract this archive to your garrysmod/garrysmod directory. The files will be placed in the appropriate folders.

Configuration and usage

Once you install this, the "Stacker" tool will show up in the list of tools, in the "Construction" category.

Changelist

v2.2
= Updated to work with the latest patch. NOTE: Due to a Garry's Mod bug, the stacker will no longer prevent objects from spawning outside of the world. This will hopefully be fixed soon.

v2.1
= Fixed it so it works in singleplayer.

v2.0
+ Added a checkbox to adjust rotation of the stacked props on each spawn. This allows you to things like arcs and spirals.
+ Added a ghost preview of the first item in a stack. You can even adjust the values and watch the ghost update instantly.
= Changed the X,Y,Z offsets to be relative to the prop being stacked. This has a big effect on how these offset values change the stack, but it's a good change that gives you a lot more power.

v1.5.1
= Fixed it so cleaning up all props will include props created with the stacker

v1.5
+ Added a button to reset all of the advanced options back to 0
+ Added a button to auto-weld the stacked props together
+ Added a button to make each prop in the stack nocollide with the prop below
= Changed the way I detect if the desired position is outside the map.

v1.0
+ First Release

If the stacker stool is not working, check the following folders for a "ol_stacker.lua" file:
garrysmod\garrysmod\gamemodes\sandbox\entities\wea pons\gmod_tool\stools
garrysmod\garrysmod\lua\weapons\gmod_tool\stools

If there is a "ol_stacker.lua" file there, delete it. This is caused by some people redistributing my stools incorrectly.

Whoa, I think we devinetely need a new rating thingy.

It would be called "OverloardUT-Like" and would count as a hundred gold stars.

You're awesome and your stools too O.O

Hey,
great stool you made there.

But I get these weird small white pixel boxes every time I stack a prop.

Can you tell me why?

Edit: Just reinstalled Gmod10 and installed only this stool. Still the white boxes :-(.

OL, thanks for taking STOOLS and using your imagination on them. I love the way you go, "What would I like in my STOOL"!!

Awesome work man.

Could you add an autoweld/nocollide function to it for the next release?

I would Lua-King you right now, but not while this bug is in there. After changing the rotation to a number other than 0 it seems you can't set it back to 0, only -1 or 1.

Looks like a graphics card issue, overheating perhaps, or maybe just a poor fillrate. Turn down your graphics options and see if it still happens.

This problem only happens on gm_construct. Don't ask me why :-(.

That isn't that stool's fault there is no evil white sky box command in his script or virii I checked it over.

Just type in 0 manually. It's not a bug. I never use sliders because you can't make them exact. However, I will add a "Reset" button that will reset all of the offsets to 0 in the next version.

As for the white box thing - the only thing I can think of is that I am spawning some info_targets on each spawn to make sure it's inside the level, but that shouldn't make anything draw on your screen.

The next version will have an option to auto no-collide and auto-weld. I meant to put them in this version, but I forgot. :D

Can you add a checkbox to spawn props welded to WORLD?

Also, when you stack props with no collide option, you cannot undo stacks.

And, last bug i found, totally messed up my weld stool.

One thing though, can you add this little fix to the next update? Can you make it so that the props you duplicate count toward your prop count? So, when I press the "cleanup" button, the props go as normal ones. Because what if someone spams them in a server, and the admin can't delete them, only by using the remover, clicking one by one....

If you are getting errors in the console I need you to post them. Props you spawn do count towards your prop limit, so if that's not working, a script error must be occurring.

And how does it mess up your weld stool SuperV? Please be more descriptive.

Edit: Okay, I did a bit of testing. Undo always works for me, no matter what settings I have. However, cleaning up all props does not work, and I know why. I will fix this for the next release.

Wait, yes, they do count towards my prop count. No errors on the console. But the props are not included in the "cleanup" function. It would also help if the stacker supported PropDefender.

Are you saying that because you think it would be a good idea, or are you saying that because you checked and it does not currently?

Because it does. ;) But if it's not working, then I need to know!
