You know that you don't have to write it like V.M.F You can just type it VMF or Valve Map File
Damn, I hope the VMF Suite comes out before summer break starts (17 days)

Teta's nuke has some nice effects to it, like the dust ring and the fact that the cloud develops gradually. I'm working those two in the next nuke VMF version :)

VMF Suite will be releaed Sturday, give a few days. Jinto said it loud and clear in my forum.

They're dead because you couldn't run the pack in GMOD 10, only GMOD 9.

Audio84, I think that you should make a hydrogen bomb as well. While they sound similar, there are many differences.

The main one is that hydrogen bombs have a whitish cloud to them due to condensation and look like this. They are also more gigantic and powerful-er than atomic bombs.


Atomic bombs are old and stupid because they don't look as cool :(


Also, hydrogen bomb just sounds cool. There are a bunch of other differences like effeciency and how they work and other silly crap that no one cares about but these are the main differences, in my esteemed opinion.

I agree with you because the hydrogen bombs could be a way of clearing the map (because there huge)or just be a weapon of mass distruction but that's my opinion, would be better if it could only be for a admin.

The type of bomb (hydrogen or otherwise) does little to determine the look of the plume. The main difference is only that hydrogen bombs work via nuclear fusion (squishing nuclei together), and non-hydrogen bombs work by nuclear fission (splitting them apart). Fusion results in more energy release, so hydrogen bombs tend to have a bigger yield in megatons.

That said, a few different looking nukes would certainly be a nice touch!

Also, jinto is holding your mod back in a big way! If VMF suite ever comes out, the popularity of this will shoot through the roof.

Just for you to know I'm still working on the mod! I've come across some cool new materials in the source engine, and some fantastic sound effects, so at the moment I'm cleaning up the bombs, adding more features etc etc.

For instance, the nuclear bombs. Instead of having a big flash and the nuke is suddenly there, it'll develop a huge ring of smoke instead, then the cloud will actually develop into the mushroom shape which we all are common with :).

So yeah, when the new VMF Suite comes out, I'll be working like hell on this :)

I noticed a fun thing with this, I dunno if it has to do with the VMF explosions, or the source engine. If you seal yourself up in a cube made of props, then detonate a nuke right besides it, you won't die.

SO: A nuclear bunker is possible, that actually works.

I don't want to ruin your ideas, but this has been made by TetaBonita. And I don't understand why the two best scripted bomb coders should work on the same thing. I prefer that you both cooperate and make 1 pack, and while you work in the plasma bomb, the petrol, the bunker-buster and stuff, he makes the nuke (I suggest him to make the nuke because he has the project more advanced)

Personally, i'm of the opinion that Teta's nuke isn't likely to be worked on for a long time. If audio84 can make a better nuke then i and everyone else would agree that this one would a good thing.

Anyway you forgot there is a very large difference between Teta's nuke and audio84's nuke. One is a SENT and the other is a VMF.

Personally i like the VMF version better.

You're right, i developed this some months ago on hugeexmapv2, but only with those grey plates, you can spawn on hugeexmapv2
