My first SWEP, which happened to be a request. I however was not given a world model so I just made it the pistol because I hate those errors! Lyoko774 did the models. I will update it soon enough to have battery life. Please no flaming. Also, left click to turn on and right click to turn off. The brightness is the exact same as the regular falshlight, the purpose of this one is to disable the 'f' flashlight on dark and scary maps, then make people choose between light or a weapon.

More Edits:
Well with thanks to mrflippy, the battery drain and recharge works perfectly. As for the model, I am working on finding a better one. And for the stupid mp_flashlight 0 problem, mrflippy and I are both working on it.

I converted the models from Doom 3 a while ago.. Just F.Y.I.

Does it actually trace from the model this time? The one I made in GM9 only turned the players flashlight on and off...But it had a melee function making it a little more useful.

It was a request for a map/gamemode I think, the 'f' flashlight would not be allowed and you would have to choose between light or a weapon because it is a dark map.

Finally someone that can actually make a good first SWEP. I think this is one of the greatest first SWEP's there are. Good job.

Yeah. The standard Flashlight sucks so if this one actually works and works well you will get a gold star. Someone post a good picture.

This looks like a good creation! Good job. RolePlay cretin will be pleased with this. An idea for if you want to improve at all. Make it something such as primary toggles it (turns on and off) and secondary goes through some preset settings (dim, normal, bright, brighter, dim, normal etc)? :)

That doesn't work, it just makes an annoying beeping sound and only turns it on.

Very nice SWEP man it made using the flashlight more realistic, but I was wondering, is it possible to make a pistol under it. Like holding a pistol below the hand your holding the flashlight in. It would be a great SWEP for zombie survival or Role playing something just wondering. Any way great SWEP keep up the good work.

Thanks :D . I don't know if it's possible to hold a pistol under it, but if someone wants to remodel the pistol to have a flashlight (not that it needs one but it would look a million times cooler), I'd be happy to just add the code. Also, do CS:S models work in gmod?

I don't like the hand or model.
The person who made the model really needs to change the model into the .H.E.V. hands, and more like a MAG flashlight model.
If you made it shine like an actual flashlight, I'll go crazy.

All this does is turn on/off the player's flashlight... but I'm looking forward to what's planned with this. It's a good idea, too.

Imagine a dark and spooky zombie map, you can hardly see a foot infront of you, but luckily you have your flashlight! But oh no, now you can't shoot that zombie, so you take out your pistol and... oh no! Now you can't see him! (It's so you choose between light or a weapon)

Having to run up and bang a Trite with a MAG-LITE doesn't make me feel protected. But I can see what you mean, it's either firepower or vision.

My only problem with it is that the light has the beams even if it is off. It just remaps the flashlight to Left And right click. Fix that, and it would be a lot cooler.

It would be awesome if you made the flashlight blind people when shined right in the eyes! It would make people so pissed... JUST LIKE IN REAL LIFE! *Drools* Well anyway, once I learn how to model and if I have the time, I'll give it to you.

P.S. I doubt I'll ever learn to model.

It should update when you load the game not steam. Restart your PC and steam and load garrys.

PS. this is not the right thread to ask for help with this problem.
