give it the property's of the black hole sent so you have to like rope it in the middle of a massive room to "stabilize" it.

You know, the one that gets extra weight for everything sucked in.

Yes, it creates 50000 of each of the basic resources every second.

I think this is the largest issue as far as balance is concerned. At 50000 a second it becomes the largest producer of every resource, which is a cheat at best. Now, what i believe would give this balance, would be a small trickle of all available resources. I think one resource of each resource every second. This makes it useful when you need a few resources and can wait a bit. This not only eliminates this from being a cheat, but also gives this some resemblance of a "real" black hole. You could argue that the one resource per second is due to hawking radiation; hawking radiation is the only energy that exits a black hole, and it does so slowly.

Yes, it is a cheat, that's why its admin only. It's for people who want to enjoy SB, but don't want to have to deal with all of the huge LS crap.

The whole point of this is to be lazy, and have an easy way to fill your caches.

When experimenting with some things in space build, you don't want to have to deal with the minimum 8 LS devices to run your ship. By reducing it to a single small prop, you can experiment more with things like LS powered thrusters and hover balls, without having to drag a bunch of shit behind you.

This is also EXTREMELY useful for having fighter refuel stations, rather than a shit load of stuff just sitting there for lag.

I do wish it was a much larger prop, and more easily damaged. It would be pretty perfect for stations at that point.

Just to put it out there.

Added support for Oilmod and Gas

Edit init.lua to reflect the following.
    Code:
    ENT.Resources = {"energy", "coolant", "air", "water", "steam", "heavy water", "ammo_basic", "ammo_explosion", "ammo_fuel", "ammo_pierce", "ammo_basic", "terrajuice", "titanium", "redterracrystal", "greenterracrystal", "12V Energy", "Petrol", "Crude Oil", "Oil", "hydrogen", "methane", "propane", "nitrous", "nitrogen", "naturalgas"}

BHC should really include some kinda algorithm that automagically produces ever resource registered.

It would require each LS/RD2 module to declare the resource name in a defined and agreed upon table/variable. Not sure if it is done like that today, but I am curious now.

I'm thinking of downloading this but everyone is mentioning life support and wiremod (I have neither although thought of getting them in the past). If the file sizes of all of those combined (and a good spacebuild map) aren't too high I might download them after midnight.

Life support is the ONLY reason to get this because all it does is give you Life Support Resources. Without Life Support it's just a black ball that sits there and does nothing.

I don't know what all the complaints are about, it works fine for me.

Just make sure you have the most up to date version of Resource Distribution and Life Support, that is likely where the problem lies.

Just Search for black hole on gmod.org, that is an entirely different entity.

    Umm... don't install it?

The only point to this addon is as an endless supply of resources, it has no other functions.

So in essence it becomes a resource cache. Here is an example, I make it admin only and I tell the people on my server if they have a legit refilling station with resources to transfer some to the cache they remove the stuff they just transfered it from and I give them the really small thing because it is only one entity not a bunch.

So you want something that holds an infinite amount of resources but does not create it on its own?

Not a bad idea, I actually thought that's what this mod did at first. Would be a nice non-admin only tool that could save space with LS yet not be too cheap.

Yes or it could be admin only and the admin could hand them out either way.
