The sizes for this are smaller than PHX, not exactly sure how much smaller. I could either make 3 versions of each General Construction Prop so that there is the original size, a size 1/2 the size of PHX, and a Size Equal to PHX. I might do that, if I get enough of a reason to.

Thanks for the question.
No problem. I thank you for awnsering it.

Um, hey.

Yeah, I have had limited contact with anyone, other than Nate (who has been missing for a few days now). And since then I have been working on this. Nice to see you.

very cool,
what you need to do is have a version of the propellers where the rotors aren't connected so you can fin them then weld them to the center.

Do the propellers and jet engines work with the Fin tool or are they just for looks?

Regardless - awesome construction tools!! Thank you!

I think you should make the propellors and fans
usable as wheels (if you haven't already)

Propellers and Fans are already wheel tooled, not fin tooled yet. Will later today. The Pistons aren't ragdolled, but I can make a version where they are and add it.

On the phx compatibility issue, how about a piece that can act as a transition from the size used by phx to the size used by this pack?
This looks great by the way.

Oooh, nice idea. I will get on that as soon as I get home. I might still make the other versions of the props though.

You should add, or make some realistic parts.

These are good, but in my opinion they are tiny, and not exactly very useful in making larger planes.

I was wondering, are you gonna add some Wings that are on 747's or 737's?

Other than that, great work.

These parts looks really nice.

I was wondering if you could be able to have the propeller/rotor blades separated from the center (where the blades connect to, I do not know its name). That way each blade could separately used with the Fin II tool.

I have not tested the addon yet, but I will when I get on my good computer.

Well, I made 5 different sizes of the 2nd Wing type, and the first wing type is decent sized itself. With the biggest size JetBody, the biggest size Tail, and the Biggest wing, I made a pretty big plane. If I get enough requests for larger pieces, I will add sizes.

Uh, I could separate them after I finish some more models for it.

Just got home, about to start on some transition models between XQM and PHX.

Well, the transitions between XQM and PHX aren't exactly "great". They won't see a release, unless someone wants to draw up a practical design for them. They seemed kind of redundant to me. I will get started on some more plane/copter parts tomorrow. Going to take a much needed break today.

Thank you so much for the helicopter rotors! I'm just about to test them out in my new helicopter! Thank you so much for bringing some NICE airplane models into Gary's Mod. Please don't forget this project and let it gather dust in your closet of awesomeness. Please remember to make additions... Oh, and a huge recommendation for SVN! Thanks again!

EDIT:

Don't forget to rest... We don't want you to rush these things!
Bless you!

Most of the models are just simple cylinders and blocks, etc? I am not expecting them to earn Model of the Year awards or something. Although, I can say I do love the turbo fan. You don't?

Concerning the textures

I have changed some of them to a lot simpler textures, I too noticed that they are a bit too complex. I haven't changed the triangle textures yet, but am planning to do so. That is why I saved the textures' Photoshop files as well as the TGA files. It is a W.I.P.

On another note, I made 1 version of airplane wheels and piston. Will upload screens in a bit.
I could reskin them for you if I'm in a skinning mood.

By the way, if you feel like it, you might want to redo some of the models. The chair, jet body, pod thing, hoverboard and the turbofan either look too big and chubby or entirely out of place.

The jet body doesn't look good as a standalone model, I agree. But, after I used it in the jet example I was pretty satisfied with the outcome. I was thinking of making a second one with a different design.

The chair I don't like. But I told a friend I would make an assortment of usable chairs. That is only the first. He liked it, I kept it.

Meh, pod remake will probably be taken out, I don't like it. Needed a much better design.

I like how the hoverboard turned out. It might be a little generic, but I can live with that.

Turbofan was the first model I was satisfied with. I agree somewhat on the others, but I am not changing the turbofan. It is my favorite.

Thanks for the input though, I will take it into consideration. If you get into the Skinning mood, I could give you a UV map for one of the models and see what you make of it. My UV maps aren't exactly "organized" though. I would probably have to make a diagram.

Just post a random UVmap here.

Also, the beams seem to have a really stretchy UVmap.

I will post one when I get home. The UV map for the beams aren't that stretchy. The models are intruded in on parts of it, it makes it look stretchy. I can make the beams have a more "simple and straight" look if you want.

Edit:

Here's the UV map for the Triangle texture. Not exactly Prime UV map material, but It works for me. The sides were all Black, so I made it simple to color all the sides at once.

This looks great. I've been wanting some good airplane parts.

Might I suggest making hollow plane bodies in sections, rather than one big piece?

For example, a nose cone/cockpit area, a regular fuselage piece, a fuselage section with the wing root (for attaching wings), and a tail section. Perhaps in various sizes, and with two kinds of wing-root sections; one with the root at the bottom (like the Learjet in the picture) and one with the root at the top of the fuselage) That would give people a bit more flexibility in constructing an airplane.
Same could go for helicopter pieces.
Also, it might be a good idea to make the fuselage parts slightly flattened on bottom, like most real airplanes. So it sits flat on the ground, without rocking.

Just some suggestions/ideas.
I'm really liking the turbofan parts. I'm makin' an Osprey as soon as I can.

Edit: Also, forgive my poor MSPaint skills.

So when are you satrting them?
Apparently some guy is also making some , so you might have some competition

And if they are similar to the PHX monorails , Don't even bother releasing them.
The monorails are shit as they are

What the hell is this?

Also, The jet models (the engines) Look nothing like jet engines. The bumpmaps are HUGE and the textures are low res.

Don't put text on your textures for building props EVER.

Like your idea, the Jet Body was just a model I quickly whipped up for use with the example jet. I will more than likely be doing this idea.

You are just all negativity aren't you?

The propeller is staying. I have 1 after the name of the propeller for a reason. There will be a lot of different types of propellers. You will get a propeller you like eventually hopefully.

And Oh, yeah, I am completely sure the Jet Engines look nothing like jet engines. [/sarcasm]

Bumpmaps = same size as Texture. Most of them are 512x512, Text wasn't meant to be exactly Readable on the lower res ones.

It may not be a real one, but it was made to look like one and make a Smoke Effect.

Stop quoting huge images/entire posts.
The fact that it was made to "look" like one and it had a smoke effect is besides the point.

Why not try and see if you can get this added to the phx3 svn? I think it would fit in great with that pack.
