Immortal Technique

Brief Background (some credit goes to Wikipedia)

Immortal Technique is an awesome hip-hop artist who mostly addresses political themes in his songs such as poverty, religion and racism. He’s Afro-Peruvian and being from New York he also raps about the poverty and crime in Harlem. He refuses to sign to any major record labels and is highly critical of large record companies and their exploitation of artists.

Official Website: http://www.viperrecords.com/

And now just a small sample of his great music. By the way, most of the videos are made by fans, they're not official

Songs

Harlem Streets

Point Of No Return

Peruvian Cocaine

3rd World

Dance With The Devil

Leaving The Past

Land Of The Gun

Creation And Destruction

Positive Balance

And my favourite song so far:

4th Branch

That’s all folks, feel free to leave comments and if I’ve made any mistakes please correct me.

Thanks to SilverHammer for some more awesome recommendations!

Enjoy!

I'm glad to see that there's others on FP who know of him.

I'm not a fan of rap, but this is pretty good. I probably just hate rap so much because it's all anyone listens to (the new rap)

Immortal technique is great. Hip-hop never seems to go down to well here, shame really. I've been thinking of doing an M F DOOM topic but I know the only response i get will be , "don't like rap".

Not a fan. He definitely has flow, but when he starts talking about politics he sounds like a 15 year old kid who just learned what they are.

Dance With the Devil is about a wannabee gangsta' who proves himself by raping a woman, but the woman turns out to be his mom, then the gangsta' kills himself.

Harlem Renaissance

Hollywood Drive By

(The sound is a bit dodgy on this video but a great song nonetheless)

Enjoy!

immortal technique is kinda overrated...i mean he is okay but everyone is like "HE THE FUTURE!! REVOLUTION!!!" but i think at this point he just sits around trying to come up with controversial political rhymes as opposed to actually writing what comes to him.

Huh? He's not trolling at all?

Anyway, yeah, Immortal Technique is good, but I dislike how he has such a racist view on white people and also how he raps about how he used to gangbang (no, not that, stop being so dirty minded), hustle etc but then gets all political. I don't think that anyone who gets involved in that should have their political views taken seriously.

He clearly states in one of his songs that he doesn't hate any white people he sees, he hates the ones he doesn't see. He says that he doesn't hate the average white man, he hates the CEO's of corporations and other high up white people.
So, anyone who has done anything wrong in their life doesn't deserve to have their political view taken seriously? Are you saying that because I got arrested a couple years back, I don't deserve to have my opinion taken seriously?

I think that he was such a criminal that it's hard to take his political views seriously.

His new album kind of killed it for me

It was dope for a while, then like, it just lost it's flavor

then slowly the Revolution albums lost their flavor

and now it's just boring to listen too

Mainly because he shoves all his views down your ears
