Yeah, people on the US servers are getting increasingly afraid of in-game death. It's pathetic. You lose nothing from death.

Still nobody around the 26-ish levels willing to do a few skirmishes? EU Snowbourne.
Damn, no FPers on Eldar?
Wow, everything becomes extremely boring once you've hit like lvl36.
You have nothing to do anymore.
It's mostly just doing quests till you get to Moria. The fun started there for me.
Around that level I bought the Evendim Quest Pack using Turbine Points, that was plenty of content up to around level 40. Although I recently subbed as the game really is worth it. Besides for that £9.18 you get around 30 quids worth of stuff unlocked on your first sub (Permanent riding skill, traits, unlimited gold cap etc).
Edited:
As a Warleader, I excel in running into the thick of it and dying.
Decided to try the game out, it seems pretty quiet around the starting areas. or maybe it's my server, it's a UK one, people have jobs and that. Is it worth carrying on for free, it's unlikely that I'll get much money soon
It's free, there's no reason it wouldn't be worth it.
Thats what I realised after playing for 4 hours so far today. Anyone play on the uk servers?
Yeah, Snowbourn.
Yup, also Snowbourne. This game massively picks up from level 40 onwards. The general questing in Angmar + Misty Mountains is ten times better than the drab that was Lone Lands/North Downs.
I'm pretty good at dying too, seeing as I have around 15,000 deaths on my Reaver. :)
Okay, I'm a level 26 freebie and I don't know where to level. Skirmishes are getting repetetive and slower whereas Lone Lands, atleast the quests I'm doing, are filled to brim with elite mobs.
North Downs? Evendim?
Gotta pay for 'em.
Free leveling pretty much hits a brick wall after 20. That's just how the game is designed.
Roll some alts, grind some deeds, collect Turbine Points?
Pretty good harp skills for not using the ABC
Soo i finally got the game downloaded and just played through the Elf starting zone. So far i like the game quite a bit the mechanics are nice and ive allways been a fan of The Lord of The Rings so the lore is an added bonus =p But is the game worth investing money in? I couldn't find how much the vip costs and how long it lasts etc but if someone could tell me thatd be awesome. Also is 500 turbine points a month going to be enough? Or am i going to find myself investing more money in turbine points?
Vip is one month's worth of subscription and costs like 10-15$.
Edited:
I haven't bought gametime in ages so I don't remember what it costs.
Yay lifetime account :D
Well, in the UK it's £9.18 a month.
How do you get a lifetime account? lol
sell your soul to Turbine
lol for real tho. cuz pretty much if i hit like lvl 20-30 ill be willing to invest ina lifetime account if its worth it...
You can't buy it anymore, it was available before they went free to play.
Damn alright.
Just reached the point where I can start on Legendary Items and it's so good. I can't wait for the update for so much more customization. This game has kept me addicted solidly. Shut up turbine and take my money.
Can't wait for that update!
On my current weapon (champion axe 2nd age) the only good legacy I have is +% Critical Magnitude. At the same time I am levelling another 2nd age champion's axe, but this one got -Battle-Frenzy CD, +% Remorseless Strike dmg and +% AoE dmg.
I have yet to find a good 3rd/2nd age bow from a drop. They all have sucky legacies. All the ones in the AH are way overpriced.
Yeah, depending on your class, it takes a lot of time and/or luck to get a decent LI. The update should help a lot with getting a good one.
ive got to level 34 and not had to pay one penny despite having half the quest packs bought and a riding skill. shame that if i wanna progress then im gonna need to start more characters to get the 300 more tb points needed for trollshawls
how far has everyone else got before they started spending money and what on?
oh and the 3g in my currency overflow is taunting me
You should be able to skip Trollshaws and be fine.
no, ive got to the point where the main quest chain is taking me through it, ive been to rivendell and (gladly) got a travel route but when it comes to doing the deeds, i hate knowing that i would have to kill them again or revisit that place just because i didnt buy the area
I bought Evendim with my Turbine Points and managed to get to around level 40 before subbing up. Very pleased I did eventually did though.
Ok im gonna get this game and if i get into it will anyone play with me?
Update 2 will be released tomorrow! For both NA and EU I think.
New players to the EU version of LOTRO get a starter kit, including some armor and a mount!

I'll be trying it out, downloading it now.
Snip that, Captain Andrastalla will roam the area southeast of Comber, grinding levels up to 17!
If anyone happens to pass by, do say hi.
Anyone on Brandywine?
Feel free to send Thoulgard a whisper, although I'm only level 16; Hobbit Burglar.
Downloaded the game, going to give it another try.
What server do the majority of you guys play on?
