    The mirrors doesn't reflect a lot. I added two mirrors and it worked fine. Then I added like two more and it stopped reflecting.

    It stops reflecting after so many reflections to reduce lag.

    I have been trying to make that ConVar people wanted. Heck, I even tried putting it into a slider on the tools options (which worked and changed the value by the way), but I have a constant error stopping the lasers from spawning. Something to with this on line 162

    	local min = laser:OBBMins();
    	laser:SetPos( trace.HitPos - trace.HitNormal * min.z );

    Anyone have any idea as to what this actually does? (Yes I do mean mainly you madjawa).

    This is so much fun, I have been playing with it a lot and making some traps and I will include it in a promo video for my friends server, I will make sure to give you a special thanks.

    I have a suggestion/question for you though, from some pictures it looks like there is a tool to combine several lasers into one, if it is i can't find it anywhere. If that wasn't a "combiner" then I suggest that you make one and a splitter for future releases that would be very cool. Also it looks like it can only be reflected 5 times or so, is there a way to change that?


    Any thank you VERY much, this is a load of fun.

    That wasn't a combiner, that was a prop set to the cube map material with a laser set to a higher width inside it, it did look pretty cool though, and it does make you want something that actually does that.

    I'm not certain if this is only me, but for some reason I can occasionally encounter a glitch when using the laser stool...

    Rather nasty bug. Physics gun disappears completely, and I'm not really certain what triggers it mid-game.

    did anybody else see that whenever you blow up an oil drum with the laser, it starts spamming your screen with "you now own this prop" for each piece of the remains? it's not actually that annoying (only four) unless you blow up like 20, but it's pretty bad.

    Edit:

    And could you change the texture to something that is mirrored? If that'
    s not possible, at least change it to something other than black.

    Can you get with the SpaceBuild team to make a better laser than the CRAPTASTIC turret laser?

    On that subject could you make the laser recharge for a second?
    Like one that's PEW PEW instead of a DEATH BEAM THAT KILLS ALL!!!

    Its mirrored for me...try adjusting some of your model detail and texture detail settings if its possible, or maybe you need reflections on. Just play with the settings until it sort of mirrors properly.

    Oh, I know the problem to the black thing, I was on construct once, and i normally have HDR on, but i got annoyed because i was being blinded, so i turned HDR off, i noticed that the mirrors went black, when i turned HDR back on, it was fine again.

    So, my guess is, you need HDR on full, and if it is on full, i have no idea.

    Yeah it must be HDR, I only have selective bloom and mine is mirrored now, it wasn't before.

    The mirrors went black for me as well, though I didn't change any of my graphics settings and they used to work just fine. Could map lighting have any effect on them?

    Yeah, a friend of mine tried HDR too and it worked.

    I have no idea why HDR would effect a material... Oh well.

    Cbale, just go to Options > Video tab then click Advance and change HDR to Bloom or Full.

    Edit: My bad, I didn't read that properly, It can't be Lighting on the map, i've been on lots of maps and they all work, even ones without lighting. (Unless you're in the dark, then you can't see it at all, which makes sense. Haha.)

    Well HDR is what decides how well a light source will bounce off of a material, so maybe, (low chance, but maybe) Madjawa made it like a realistic mirror, where light bounces of to give you a image.

    Nice, downloaded. Server I was on had this, I was ragdolled upon arrival and everyone else was getting spawn-camped by the lasers... Hopefully future encounters with this device will be less hostile.

    Just a quick note to the author, in case this hasn't already been brought up: I have a few laser values wired to an expressions gate in wiremod, however the wiring doesn't seem to be saved after being duplicated by adv duplicator.

    Unless I'm the only one experiencing this, it may be a bug needing to be fixed.

    i just came all over my keyboard. I leave gmod for a few months or so and i come back and this is what greets me, i loved the previous lasers and had great fun making auto kill turrets now mirrors! you are the man!

    I had a brilliant idea for those who want to "Drill holes" into props and such.

    I have no idea if it's possible, but here's my idea;

    When the laser shoots a prop for X amount of seconds, the laser Nocollides through the prop, if you move the laser, it collides with the prop again. You won't be able to put hte laser through the last hole, but beggars can't be choosers.

    Edit: Mind you... it'd probably go through the mirror as well... Is there anyway to prevent it going through spesific entities? I dunno, i really should learn LUA at some point...

    When abouts do you mean? I have noticed, that when i start single player on sandbox, i get like, 10 seconds of uber lag, then it goes away... But that mainly appeared when i got Stargate pack a few days ago.

    White fang, do you have stargate as well? Maybe it's a script conflict or something when gmod loads it.

    I think it has been mentioned once already, but does anyone operating a dedicated server notice that when you spawn a few LASERS and reflect them some times you get an "Engine Error" window saying "No Free Edicts"

    This is really limiting my use of this mod on my server... strange thing is- it never happens on single player no matter how many LASERS I spawn/reflect. This error means there are too many entitys on the map at once. I was running SB_Gooniverse with the default mapspawned stargates/DHDs.. 2 LASERS and 2 mirrors. I don't know about some people, but i don't exactly call that alot of entitys. :S

    Edit: I forgot to mention that gmod crashes and THEN displays the window.

    Well, that happens to me alot, and i mean ALOT. And you are right: vista always trys to fix it and fails miserably, but that's not the point. Madjawa: when you finish sunning yourself =P could you look into this? it's really limiting my use of this mod on my server.

    I thought being as the LASER STOOL was the main reason for me making it, i'd post about the fact that i'm starting work on a particle cannon like the one from CnC (command and conquer for those who are noobs) Generals. At the minute I have positioned the 5 LASERs in a circular PHX tiled series prop at even angles with the "amplifying dish" in the middle. Just that on its own looks good at the minute. Eventualy I will have the main LASER in the middle facing vertically, which will bounce off an orbiting 45* mirror, sending it to the other mirror at the weapon's target location reflecting the beam down onto the player and zapping 700 shades of shit into him.. (or her)

    Any ideas on show I can calculate the angle from the stationary mirror above the emitter to the recieving (moving) mirror at the target??? Making the recieving mirror move to the target location is no problem.. I can do that fine, but I need to find a way of making it always be aligned with the emitter mirror so the LASER can be reflected onto the target (700 shades of shit etc.) =S

    Errr, Maybe you could try wiremod forum? They might be able to help you better with that...

    Last year, i madea GoW (Gears of War) Hammer of Dawn, it was pretty cool, except i have no idea how to use wire thrusters so i just used the hover jump thing, it wasn't that good, but it was fun to use.
    I also made this other thing using wired Facer, i made three facers, with lasers on and when i pointed with the laser pointer thing, all 3 facers turned to it, so you got super owned by lasers from three diffrent directions, now THAT was fun.
