I know I told you this while you where originally making PSW but the team thats waiting should have kind of a pirates themes town to hang out in and buy shit for their ship and what not.

Well I am probably going to make a map for ship building and showcasing my new ships so I may be willing to make a small town with a pirate theme. I would need an example of what you are looking for though. I obviously cannot do the buying things.

Oh shit I'm shitting bricks soon. This is wonderful! I remember playing POTC in some Pirate wars server, it was amazing. Ramming enemy ship was best "Full speed ahead yarr!" and then crush enemy or your ship and winning with almost sunken ship is also cool, you spawn underwater but front side is above water. Submarines to victory!

I love ye all if you do this gamemode working.

There has been 3 versions of Pirate Ship Wars, Pirate Ship Wars, Pirate Ship Wars GM10, and Pirate Ship Wars 2

That was a video of Pirate Ship Wars remade for GM10, this is the sequel.

I really agree with the in game music option. You should find some music that you can use freely and make options to have it play. Perhaps make a music folder on the client and make it possible to drag things in there for the gamemode.

If my computer could have taken the first one, I would have loved it. (I had an average of 5-7 fps on most CS:S maps, therefore I had an average of under 3 on the last PSW) But I will most deffinetly love this when it comes out. My biggest problem with it was how much lag was created when you explode the barrel (in the powder room???) which destroyed pretty much that half of the ship. (which for some computers would make them crash like hell) I'm all for this one. Too bad there won't be a steam anouncement for Gmod when this comes out.

I do not think explosives will be a problem with lag. Not much of one anyway. And I am sure Termy will make a way to turn off the explosives that will eventually make it on the ship. Won't you! These ship also do not have gibs I think so it will also be more efficient because of that. For all the people that blamed 90% of the lag on the ships(myself included) this should fix it. If it does not then we were all wrong. Not to say that the code improvements will not be VERY welcome.

Awesome. I've never played this personally but people always seem to be chatting about this. I'm gonna keep track of this thread alot. I wish I can model. It's the only thing I want to do.

Should probably post some of my site work too. Gimmik's working on the blog theme while I'm doing a welcome page as well as the main site layout. This is an extremely early welcome page - it's not close to being done (text isn't burned in, the left and right boxes will have items in them, placeholder text):

We also have a lot of the physics structure planned out and coding has begun.

The key thing we're missing right now are modelers, as termy stated. The original psw player models are no longer viable and need to be replaced. Aside from the player models, new weapons and hand models would be good.

- Two different types for each team
- Maybe different looking pirates for each team also.
- Maybe a random pirate NPC (for like a shop keep or something )
Hand Models
- All the same but one for each team

Make a captain that will be random choosed each match so you don't have to team dm for the steer lol.

But just because you decide to make one player model does not mean you have to go and make multiples for each team. Just 1 player model retextured so that it is a different color for each team would be very nice.
I wonder what a brush based pirate would look like...

I assume when you say barrels you mean cannon barrels. We also need a new base for the barrel. The thing it sits on.

Honestly I can't think of a good idea to solve the team dm for steering. If I disabled team dm for captain someone can just troll and not move, if I assign one like you said the person could be AFK. The only thing left is a vote to remove captain but that would leave to a bit of a voting system and not everyone will know how.

I'm leaning to a scoreboard with mouse enabled to mute players (honestly it's crazy how scoreboards don't do this automatically) and next to that a vote remove for captains.

I would do vote kick and vote ban but that ventures into admin mod territory.

You could also have a vote for captain and if a captain is not selected by some set time then a captain is automatically selected at random.

If you wanted to make new ships you would have done it long before now I hope. It took me a year to get fed up and I looked at those ships all the time.
Keep in mind some of the textures are wrong but they will be fixed before you see the images of the complete ships.

To all who are concerned,
my PC motherboard is shot.
This will result in all of my data being lost, including my Pirate Ship Wars data.
I will re-create the maps, of course, but expect a delay in any of my productions.
I will re-place the MB, but it will take a while.
