Finally! After all of these years I finally got a message back from Valve!
I simply asked Marc Laidlaw what the development of Half-Life 1 was like.
What I got back:

I barely remember. I am an old, old man now. I remember a bunch kids working on it and now most of them have kids. We might have some archives that I could use to refresh my memory but the basement is full of...things.

Do you send your stuff to valve and they give you back autographed, or they just send autographed stuffs to you?

and for who should i send the email? alison?

Either or works really. Just talk to Gabe or Alison (Alison is generally faster) via email and ask either if you can send them something to autograph or if they could send you an autograph.

I e-mailed Gabe a few weeks back to ask if there was a way to get Valve games into College, because we do a Computer Games Morality thing every so often, and they won't let us use Steam, at least not with all the random crap on it. I got this back, although it isn't from Gabe;

I think it would be a pretty awesome thing if the community contributors of Team Fortress 2 were given Dota 2 beta keys. This would mean anyone with a self-made weapon, a community weapon, or a Wiki Cap. These contributors have done a lot for Valve, and I believe they deserve a Dota 2 beta key.

They should seriously consider making that Saxton adventure a reality though, those guys are assholes, and yeah, those guys need to be extinct. They fucking think they can eat people without motive and get away with it, they fucking think they can surround and ram ships and make them dump their food, they fucking think they can hide under the boat docks in fresh water, waiting for unsuspecting people to jump in, they should think again. Those assholes came up with no innovations for the world, they would do us, and other sea life a favor, if they were no longer. I would hate to see Saxton's own personal tragedies, but it would be epic, if he was avenging someone, so that's why he had to kill them all.

I would seriously play a Saxton adventure like that, we kill each other in TF2 anyway, what's the difference. If I was going to send Valve an email, I would ask them if they could make that Saxton adventure, his own FPS. At least on the Source, you know such a hunting adventure would look good.
