Demodex folliculorum
The Eyelash Mite is the most common type of mite found on a human, but, in rare cases, a human might be infected with Demodex canis. The Eyelash Mite was first described in 1842, and it lives in the pores of, yes, your very own eyelashes. It also lives near the noes, and near the eyebrow. It survives by eating dead skin cells, but does not eat live cells. This makes the relationship between humans and D. folliculorum a communal relationship. We don't have to worry about their feces either, due to the fact that their digestive system is one of the most efficient in the world. However, more sensitive humans might fall victim to certain types of skin disease, such as Blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids. D. folliculorum is transferred by physical contact, and they are sexual reproducers.
