Lol... Yeah, I guess it'd be cool if they could take physics based damage. Hit one with a car when it's above ground, that'd be interesting.
Been working on the Grablet. Took longer to get to this point than I expected, but on the plus side I found a neat trick that helped me out with the mandibles...
Only thing missing is the Jaw really. Really it's more detailed than it ought to be already, so don't expect it to get much better than this, other of course than smoothing groups, which are disabled for these renders. Considering they're small fries, they'll probably look pretty good in the game at a total so far of 2,262 Triangles (1,342 polygons).
Oh, and as I'm still in the modeling stage, THIS is the time when I can make changes, so if you have critique, the time is NOW
No sideplates, and believe me, they're a proper length and width.
Please look at references before deciding to give critique; memory alone isn't enough, trust me. Your memory can fool you.
In case you didn't know, Xystus is back.
AWSOME......lol you took my idea -_- but all u need to do is make an egg xP cant wait!
...Grablet? :/ What's that? In one of the movies AFTER Tremors 3?
no as i recall it was the 4'th one.....that's also when they show the PUNT GUN!!!! :D
Dude, now THOSE ARE THE RIGHT KIND OF SPIKES! Mush better than those pansy little things on the major graboids (I mean how they were modeled). I like the little bumps at the base of them and the slight curve. MUCH better.
i know u might be really busy but all u need know is the eggs :D
if anyone wants a model to code the elephant gun pm me and i will send you this
quick render of it
Oh, I know, I just wished they were positioned slightly differently and that they were stubbier (the graboid, not the grablet). I was just sayijng how awesome it'd be if the graboids could be like those.... mmmmmm.
It looks good, especially for how small you keep saying it is. Compare it to something though, so we know how small it REALLY is.
I was wondering, when your done with this can you make the starcraft zerg hydralisk? that would be awesome.
An egg model for a SENT isn't going to be hard to do from a modeling standpoint. In fact, it will be ridiculously easy, though I'm not going to be making shell gibs or anything for it (overkill). The material/texture will be the main point of difficulty, mainly for making a normal map, but otherwise it's almost negligible.
Once I'm finished with all the Tremors stuff, I feel like I might want to honor my avatar a little bit. As in, yes, Dragonball Z content. I'm thinking less anime style, and more photorealistic, as in the film Dragonball Evolution, sans the lameness. Models, possibly snpc (would be awesome) and SWEPs =3
Oh, and of course, Dragonball SENTs.
I already worked to model and recreate the effects of the Dragonballs as they were in the film.
but will the player be able to make a wish!?! :D
Collecting every single one to summon an SNPC Dragon(forgot his name, its been so long...) that grants a wish like this;
/kill [name of player]
/give [name of weapon/item]
/adopt [get a mini dragon(watshisname) as battle companion]
ect,ect,ect. That would rock :O
well all i have to say is that i (not that this matter's) HATE DRAGONBALL Z!!!!!!!!!!!! anyway back to the tremors!
Sorry, I don't mean to flame, and I think those dragon balls look pretty epic. Be nice for just a model even... Especially with that awesome glowy texture, and the greatness they exude (even though, as Necroblade said, I'm not a huge fan of the movie, though I don't dislike it enough to follow this with twenty exclamation points). What would be really neat would be if they gave off light, like a light entity...
Oh you bet, I've been thinking about how they'd work. The Smokiness in the center that you see is a complex lens flare actually, easily turned into a sprite I should think. In the picture they're glowing like they do when in proximity to other Dragonballs, but when apart they're much dimmer, so the sprite would change from a dimmer one to the current one when close to others and vice versa. The tricky thing though would be the stars. In the film they're not static, they just float along the circumference like something in a snow-globe. The closest thing I can think of is giving the stars a bone in the center which will be part of a two-bone ragdoll. The stars can be free to go the full 180 degrees and be given a weight value of 0 so that they don't automatically try sinking towards the floor. The problem with that might be the collision model, but I've heard in some cases that intersecting collision models sometimes work...I dunno about collision models INSIDE collision models though...
As to DBZ, I like it obviously. The movie I thought could have and SHOULD have been infinitely better. I'll even go as far as to say the current direction the film took might have worked if it was plenty longer and shown some love. I don't personally mind the actors, I think they were fine, but they got a shitty script with shitty dialogue and were directed by a guy for who all I know only woke up every few minutes to remember where he was and then say "Good job, cut, print, next scene...Zzzzzz..."
couldn't you animate them just moving around the globe? would work and you could just have it constantly moving.. where as with the bone method if no one is holding it, it wouldn't move
i no nothing about drangon ball so i don't no the movement or anything just going by what your saying.
But if you use the Dragonballs too much the the Dragon will kill you XD
Yes I did watch the series when I was a kid. Looking back on it now it was quite cheesy, and some of the action scenes were overdone, and the story was... well, it was... ummm... Caught between an acid trip and a really long fight scene.... But most of the action was awesome, and that was what kept me sucked in.
Oh yeah and Necroblade your That's what she said joke sucked.
damn....well it was worth a try :P also mindmuncher im sorry that's how you feel about my comments but that's how I like to comment sorry that it bothers you D:
Are any of these finished? D:
Mainly I'm waiting for Stratos to show up. I still have to UVW the Grablet, and rig it, but otherwise there's not much else to do. I'd need a texture to start ragdolling the AB. I guess I could start animating soon, or focus on my other project.
well al i have to say is that ur doing the best you can :) so keep it up!!
I'm glad this was not dumped out and is still being made. :D
"HeY thuR!!11 CuN Y0o Make a Grab monstar 4 ME right N0W??! L0l I luv ya"
It's much easier on the eyes.
........ooooookkkkkk*low to high voice* well that's off topic so back to the tremors thing :D
Hey J-Dude, do you think we could get a front-page update? Like, all of whats good with the monsters. that would be great. ^_^
i would be great but it would be a wast of time so that can wait till after he's done
Hey J-Dude, if you're going to model a Barret M-82 (If that's what Burt Gummer used in the movie, that is), you can instead just find an M-82 skin or model on FPSB. But you'd have to give credit.
well you sead it i love shooting big things :D!
