How effective is this weapon?
How accurate?
According to the Release page, it lacks a visible clip on the HUD, so how many shots does it have?

Ok Mr.Questions man (lol jk) as of now it has 50 shots. We are thinking about making clips with about 20 shots each before you have to relaod. And this is quite accurate and even more when you crouch.



Do you think there should be clips?

I say yes, because clips in this situation would be considered more as "Energy Cells" like on the Ronon Gun in aVoN's pack but we all know that doesn't have clips.

Edit: Also, please try to stop yourselves from asking questions when we are still in the early development of this pack. We still have bugs to fix with the Ancient Guns we have made.

The name for them would be "Ancient Energy Clips".

That's what i have as of now, if someone comes up with a cooler name i might use it.

I get lua error 66 entity null after installing in addons. Also the bullet and the glow effect should be blue, blue is what the asuran gun fires.
And in one of the episodes I don't remember which one, the actual projectile is not a bullet of energy like ronan's gun it's more like the staff blast it has a tail after shot so if you could add these things next time that would be cool

You could have used energy_muzzle from the stargate pack directly instead of creating a "energy_muzzlegreen". Using effect:SetAngle(0,255,0) applies a color.

And if I remember correctly, the azurean gun's blasts are skyblue.

I just listened to the sounds. They are really good, but are they actually from the show?

Avon the sounds he has aren't what the asuran gun sounds like. I have a sound of it somewhere ill find it and post it.


Avon got a question for you, Id like to change the cloak sound of the cloaking stool on your pack, but I can't seem to find the code for it. Do you know where it is in the lua or in your pack? or even how to insert my own sound if you could tell me how that would be cool. I'm just learning lua I'm a total noob.

The idea for this weapon is, after getting hit a couple times it takes some hp and slows you down (like Avons Zat) but not stunned (Because then thes wepon will be very stupid and people would be stunning all of the time). If you get hit a bunch of times it will eventually kill you tho. If someone could make this model that would be great because then we might start this weapon sooner.

@aVoN: Yeah, kind of figured that out after playing around a bit. Just never removed the effect.

So... I have been thinking of some ideas. What do you guys think of:
ZPM Recharger or ZPM Creator
ZPM Counsel (Controls the power output and flow of the ZPM's (also can make the ZPM's overload the way Dr.Mckay did to destroy the Asurans on there home planet))

Ancient City-Sheild (Doesn't have strength 0-100, stays on if it has the power, the more dammage the more power it takes and the less dammage the less power it takes, The sheild effect also stays on the entire time the sheild is active not just when dammage is done, the sheild also will not push but will be like a solid wall.


If we could have some input on these ideas or if you have any other ideas please post them. Thanks.

Yes we know that the sounds are not what they actually gun in the show sounds like, but there the only ones we made (or found) that have no background noise. So if someone could find some without any background noise, we would appreicate it.

Nice ideas zman. I like it.

I can't remember the episode but ill try and find it it's a clean sound you just hear the shot and as it flies by you can hear that too.

So what exactly have you changed from the one I coded?


Appart from making it more inacurate from the show by making it green... Oh and also where is the credit to me for the guns spawn materials and sounds? Oh and as for the lua... it's worse than mine so why even release this? i'm puzzled

We are changing alot, but as of now the model is the closest thing we have for an Ancient gun( THIS IS NOT AN ASURAN GUN IT IS AN ANCIENT GUN, SORRY THE MODELS AND SOUNDS ARE THE SAME BUT THEY ARE THE BEST WE HAVE RIGHT NOW). If someone could provide a color we could use seeing as how we have no idea what color the Ancient gun shoots.

Well use the colour from the gun I coded, And Ancients and Asurans used the same guns so there is no difference. Oh and thanks for editing the credits

He's right though, the Alterans and Asurans use the same color, as the Asurans were created by the Alterans (aka the Ancients)

Your Welcome, if you wanna help in any way that would be great. And i would think the Asurans and Ancients were the same but we are trying to make it look more Ancient and less Asuran.

(Eaiser to see that someone is shooting an Ancient gun and not an Asuran gun)

The ancient gun shoots a blue color with a tail at the end sort of like a hatak weapon.

You see we have never seen an ancient wield any sort of weapon but we have seen their creation, The Asurans aka replicators. they carry the "Asuran weapon" and thus we would asume this is the same weapon that the ancients would have used as the Asurans mimic the ancients in exact detail.

How about a Hyperdrive....wait, is someone already doing that? Um, Puddle Jumper....oh no, that's what votekick was doing, or was he? Hmmmmm, Replicators? Wait, nevermind. Damn, all you good Lua scripters took the best ones. Okay, that's it. Ancient Control Chair, I know no one is doing that, mostly due to fact that aVoN might have forgotten all about it, because some chump stole a model which aVoN found out about. Beside, I can't think of anything else at the moment.

How about making a sent that can make a hyperspace window that sucks in anything near it while its open or a time dilation field where things either go faster or slower than time outside the field or a dimensional doorway which will allow people to go into separate dimensions like in that one stargate sg1 episode. The hyperspace window and the doorway will almost work the same way which is they will make anything that goes through them invisible and untouchable to the things in the regular dimension, the doorway however will have many different frequencies that you can choose from a remote control, while the hyperspace sent will choose at random a different frequency so that two ships going into hyperspace won't crash into each other.

Well as avon has said before you can't make one part of the maps move slower or faster then the rest, it just can't be done. And for the doorway, that would be very much like the cloaking device, I really see no use for that because you can cloak yourself with avons cloaking device or use the handheld one.
