New FPS: Aliens VS Predator 3
Finally: Sega has just announced the arrival at the beginning of 2010 of new Aliens VS Predator. The game will be developed by Rebellion, the British responsible for first AvP in 1999. Press release does not give any detail, with share which the game will leave on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Sega France however confirmed us that it was indeed a FPS. The game is called for the moment Aliens VS Predator and not AvP 3.
In addition, Sega benefits from the advertisement to push back the exit of Aliens: Colonial Marines: the FPS of Gearbox, which had until now a fuzzy coming out date (he was still recently announced for the beginning of this year), will leave after AvP 3 and is thus caught a year in the teeth.
Unfortunately there is a console release : PC X360 PS3.
It's unfortunate to have a game have a console release as well as a PC release? what's so bad about consoles that you want all FPS games to be PC-exclusive. not everyone has the rig to run today's games, let alone the money to buy them.
I hated 1. The Predators were dressed up as big football players instead of the nimble beings they should be, and they died WAYYY to easily. I agree that the second one also sucked, but at least they could do predators right...

are you sure you're not talking about the second GAME? because that WAS the shit, but the second movie was almost shit. I only watch it because it did predators better than the first AVP movie. goddamn football playing steroid predators.
I fucking loved AVP 2, Playing as alien was so cool, sneaking around as a facehugger, become chest burster, it was cool how you could go through the whole life cycle of an alien. The multiplayer looked cool but there was never anyone I could play with :C hopefully it will be in AVP3!
Oh well, at least it gives Gearbox time to polish and refine A:CM. Still though, that stings like a sonuvabitch. We've got two AvP games, I'd rather have Colonial Marines.
Fuck that bullshit, I want a game where you can still do what you do in Colonial Marines, but if desired you can take over as an alien or a predator. Why make a game where you can only be marines when you could be all three?

Because A:CM is a (sometimes) squad based horror shooter that follows Alien-Alien 3. I'd rather have A:CM before AvP3.
Awesome news. I've been dying for another AvP after I played AvP2 to death and all the servers died. All I've wanted is a similar experience with better AI and on a more modern engine and I'll be happy.

Yeah but why couldn't AvP3 be the same thing when you play Marine missions or just Marine vs. Alien multiplayer? It's like they took one possible aspect out of a hundred in an AvP game and said "let's just make this the whole game".

Damnit. Everything is being made for consoles now so us PC gamers get hella dumbed down gameplay and there is a major lack of anything new. Don't get me wrong, I'm stoked, but I don't think it's gonna live up to the first 2.
