Gcombat 08 is a system that allows certain SENT weapons to deal damage to and destroy any prop, including ones that are normally invulnerable. This pack includes core files, and a package of weapons that I hope to continue expanding. All weapons are spawned from the gcombat STOOL under construction. You will need an up to date copy of wiremod to use the weapons.

What's new about it?
I've put more of a focus on competitive multiplay. Features like heat damage are taken out in favor of a more streamlined system. Also, nothing uses munitions any more. The weapons are now balanced using other means, and are far more fun for it. Also, am in-game help feature has been added

What weapons does this contain?

* 2pdr rapid fire cannon
* Classic tank gun
* Ion ray
* Rocket battery
* Beam sword
* Beam dagger
* Death ray
* Flame cannon
* Heavy grenade cannon (remote detonated)
* Missile lock warning
* Long range missile with terrain avoidance
* SAM missile
* Homing swarm rocket
* Mortar cannon
* Nebelwerfer
* Vulcan laser
* Plasma cannon
* Point defense array
* Torpedo launcher
* Supply crate (dispenses infantry weapons)
* Antitank rifle
* Infantry mortar gun

I have a few more in the works, and there are a couple hangups with the infantry weapons since I've never made SWEPs before. This is an ongoing project.

Versions:
1: initial release.

2:

* fixed a lot of effect spam
* fixed errors in the tank rifle
* made the tank rifle charge faster
* better stargate mod compatability
* improved performance of some effects
* new wick for the sapper
* sapper invulnerability bug sorted out.

Quite a few people have been extremely helpful in getting this to the current state. Lots more than I can remember, but thanks y'all. You know who you are. Bug reports are extremely important to projects like this, so feel free to rip it apart.

Lpine seems to have removed the malicious code from his scripts. Only so that they don't break his stuff though :loleyes:

PJB, i don't think you really got my LoS Cannon. I meant more along the lines of a missile that flies at wherever the launcher is pointed, even if that point changes.

I believe it would be in the best interest to stay on topic.

Usually when someone mentions anime or some shit we really don't care about (not trying to offend anyone, but I see it happen a lot here), people start posting off topic. Now that the thread limits are set, people should speak less about fantasies and whatnot and more things that are or can be related to GC.

So kraizer793, any video in the works?

Are you affiliated with the GC09 team in any way? Do you have access to information that would be a good reason to edit the OP? I am just saying that it is always better to leave things to their rightful owners. There was no reason for you to make a thread. You should have known that kraizer793 was going to make it himself.

Don't justify yourself, and don't agree to yourself either.

Though I am contradicting my previous post about no fighting/arguing, you just can't help it sometimes.

it is right when the one claiming to be official is made by a member of the official team, and therefore is more qualified to post on the subject.

in plain English; the people making something have more right to make an official info thread on their project then someone else, simply because they will have more info, and their topic will be more helpful.

Just download the GCombat from the first post. Ignore the SVN because it is more out of date with whats up there for now.

Sunnday, not to sound rude. However like the rest have said, Me, MOrcam, PJB, if any of us say something, it almost automatically overrides what you say. I appreciate your effort to somehow aid by creating a new topic. However leave that kind of thing to the devs please. I posted a new one so that a dev member could have control over the OP. doesn't matter if it's me or morcam or PJB who posts it, we're all in this as equals. I was asked by morcam to make a new one, thus I did.

As for progress. We continue to work dilligently on the project. It's done when it's done.

I'm pretty sure it will be, however, it will have some major changes that i am not at liberty to disclose at this present time, but yeh, it should still be Compatible. (hopefully)

If I may make a suggestion...
We originally strayed away from ls3 and stuff like that because of practical issues.
Eg:WHO THE HELL WANTS TO DRIVE A TANK WITH A SHITLOAD OF STUFF JUST TO FIRE THE MAIN CANNON.
And heat was removed because it caused more havoc then required to make it work properly.
so when we did away with the heat and the ls3 and stuff we balanced it out so we could only fire so fast and the damage modified depending on the rate of fire

GC, combat is ment for QUICK, battles. Fun Battles. And is effective without the need of Complex systems of resources.

Sunnday. Things will be re-written. The old heat system, no offense to Q42, crap. It will be rewritten in some form. whether it's heat, ammo, whatever, there will be another game mechanic added.

Who wants to drive their tank to fire their main cannon? Iono, let's park it and fire it shall we? If you had paid any attention to anything that I or the other devs have said, it'l most likely be optional. Thus, if you want to drive your tank 546406540 miles to charge your cannon, so be it. We aren't limiting you to what you can and cannot do, the sky is the limit. It's up to the administrators on your chosen serve how the game will be played. Yes, It is enginous.

Compatible, possibly, we do feel we want the end user to have a huge amount of possible functionallity but at the same time if you *need* to have five oxygen scrubbers two fusion power plants, seventy solar panels and a billion fuel containers along with twenty ammo boxes just to fire your death laser, well. that's beyond anti-optimisation.

We may well add support for life support to give some kind of boon to damage or defence, however making it a requirement is a definite no.
Even then, life support support will most likely not be included with any initial release, rather it will be provided with later patches.

Tech 4 more likely. Consider any weapon above tech 4 to be either death incarnate, or hell on earth.

Personally I loved both, the ending to blue-gender was a little poor though, FMP is great, as was fummofu (can't spell it and to busy to google) FMP's mechs where great light-mobile suits though.

the old heat system was terrible, to limit weapon spam we will be incooperating several constructs that are non-damaging, and also easy to use and understand.

It sounds like you'd be biting off more than you can chew on there, but if you look at the other mods about they're WIP without a definite finish point.

Yeah, if the planet's reacted to too much population, staying in space would be fine, why everything had to blow up is beyond me.

I think that GC should SUPPORT LS but not REQUIRE it.
If you have LS you need energy and stuff to run your weapons
If you don't have LS you can just spam guns and just stupidly beat the crap out if everything
As long as it's a fairly simple system, just requiring Energy or Munitions/Ordanance. Having different factories for bullets, cannon shells and missiles would be overkill to me.

What I meant was a missile that, once fired, at a certain distance fires swarmers.

Swarmers are those tiny missiles that fly all around and home to various targets. They are in GCombat 08.

Also, here's a few suggestions:

Micromissiles: Basically, swarmers that instead of homing to various targets and being generally a safety hazard, fly straight forwards. That is to say, when the "shoot the gun" button is pressed, several small missiles are fired. They don't, however, just fly in a straight line, but slightly spread out, causing there to be a small wall of missiles. ...That's basically it.

Knockback: When you fire a weapon, it creates a backwards thrust based on what weapon you're using. If you use something like a gatling gun, the thrust is basically nonexistant, while if you use something like a deathray, the thrust is quite strong, and the weapon should be used with extreme care.
