Hi all! Yes I am back with a new idea!
I was downloading all the seasons of docterwho and watched them all, but now I've found out that there aren't anymore seasons while the current docter is saying goodbye to all of us...

So I worked for a hour or 2 on this map, and I hope it will become a fun to play map.

My plan:
I want to make the tardis ( duh ),
and I want to make some missions and planets and other star systems wich you can manually fly with the tardis through, or just push some buttons to simply letting the tardis do all the work, you press button and walk through the doors and wow, snow! (or a sandstorm or something...)

I used pieces of the soundtracks from the series to form sentences :P.

Some pictures will be here soon, but as showcase I made this intro VID

This is still a heavy WIP...

I only worked for about two hours on this WIP, I will release a demo when I worked some more on it. I found out I got a day off from work, so I might aswell work on it in a few hours.

Yea, the stairs is my lowest priority, First I want a working map, and that stairs looks weird cause I have experience in reaching the brush limit wich I don't intend to hit this time.

Sweet...I dont know were you live but were I live there is a doctor who marathon on scifi, hopefully it will give you some inspiration.

unfortunatly I can't recieve scifi over here :(,
But I've seen most of the season episodes, although it is all really blurry in my memory when it gets to details.

If you're hitting the brush limit alot you're doing it wrong.

Stairs are easy to make. I suggest following one of the many tutorials for a spiral staircase. A set of stair is not going to fuck over your brush limit and the visual effect will be worth it.

Show me one such map where you've had too many brushes. Chances are it is poorly optimised or has useless brushes.

oh no no, had optimized it the best I could. But I always tend to try to make a whole universum in one map :P

Gotta reupload, hold on people! VId is underway! And I made a second vid also wich I will uopload after this one. (bad internet conection at the moment.)

Changelog:
Added more doctor who'ish lights
the wardrope got thinner ( Remade all the pillars )
Changed the color of almost everything (it now doesn't look that orange)

I know this one sucks cuz its only a bunch of pictures, but the second VID is better (still just something I made very quikly but it is only a concept, the tardis in the next VID is the things I worked on not the weird looking highway)

And a hint, you know this intro I made for this vid? Well watch the second one, some secret information wich the ones who skip the intro will miss.

Well the pumping sounds you hear in the vid, is an ingame sound. I didn't add that in with movie maker.

No yea of course I understand.
Now wait, you can manually fly the Tardis on the highway, but after you land it are you able to exit the doors of the interior tardis and be were you landed?

You might want to use the TARDIS model from the actual Doctor Who pack for the outside of the TARDIS, and also make sure the cars collide with each other. Massive pileups will be fun.

Lol, I seem to just open this thread right after you posted or edited :P,
Yea, it kinda teleports you from the inside to the outside
You walk through the doors in the tardis it self, and you teleport to the tardis its exterior.
When the doors open from the inside they open from the inside, but in the series you can only open it from the inside like a normal door, but from the outside you need a key once the door closed.

So this way you can only get into the tardis, (teleporting from the exterior tardis to the tardis interior) if you are alowed to (like someone opens the door from the inside, or you found the key in the map.).

And you can't just spam grenades at it and hope the ones inside die.

But the exterior tardis and the interior are not yet added in the same map, they are made seperately.
But adding them together, make the teleport work, and make the doors work together can be done in 5 mins.

And that highway you saw, was just to show the tardis its exterior, and to show you you can fly the thing your own, or with some buttons and just simply teleport to places wich their positions are fixed in the map. But I might concider to work that highway out, just to have a laugh with the tardis :P

EDIT
And there will also be some space to fly around,
But in this map, the tardis is overpowered, the one who get sinside first, will have all the fun.
And the one he picks out as its companion will also. And the rest would just try to steal the tardis :P

But I think this would be a hell lot of fun to play online :P

But it is late over here, so I gotta sleep. Need to work tomorrow...

Thats amazing!!! I always play around with the Doctor who pack's TARDIS by making it teleport around but it was missing the full effect (not saying that it is bad), because A) you couldnt really fly it and B) you cant go inside it and walk around. I think I will have A LOT of fun with this map.

but that model doesn't have doors wich open and close by a hammer input.
And I reuploaded the tardis highway, now it shows the release of the next episode at the end.

Alright, today I worked a bit further after dinner, I got a huge update for you all!
I will finish it tomorrow (only worked on it for about 1.5 hour of my free time I got left from work)

I had just thought up a huge idea during dinner, wich I just had to begin with, so maybe you will like it also ;).
But for now, good night all, I am watching some telly and them I am off to bed :P.

Yeah, I just made the vid, but have to go to work withing a half hour, already uploading it but it really goes slow...
but one thing I can already tell everyone, I fused the tardis its exterior and interior together in one map!
Only the teleporting goes a litlle but crappy... But this wasn't the idea I had yesterday, you'll see it in the vid ;)

I think the whole doctor who concept is finished now, I only need to optimize the details and make some worlds or someone else needs to have a suggestion :P

Nice, I cant wait to see the completed thing. are you going to include buttons on the console that will teleport the tardis to different parts of the whole map, for example if you want to go from that house map you just showed to a snowy field you could press a button instead of having the two different areas connected? If that makes sense.

And yea, thats something I will include also, but I paid more atention to this way of teleporting.
I think this way is way cooler instead of going to a few static loactions where everyone might be waiting for you to steal ur tardis :P.

And I jsut arived at mah house :P

It was made, just like the highway to show the tardis and its new things. ;)

I think I have finished the whole tardis concept, I only need a world and some teleport points, and then nocolide everything to the teleporting invis fake tardis flying thingy, and the map would be done

Ow, and ofcourse, Hide the key :P.

But I will hide multiple keys :P
So if someone is in the tardis, and someone else i able to reach it, then he can try to kill the one inside to become the doctor, mmh I can predict people always stay high in the air with their tardis :P

Alright, I have found an old project of me, where I was developpinf a street with my own house. Maybe I will make a short movie in the weekend with the tardis in it :P.

And jwm96, I would be really thankfull if you could supply me of some of the doctor who places,
I seem to only be getting doctor who himself or his companion with google :(.

And also, if you want to help me searching some buildings london style, it would be really nice too.
Cause everything in doctor who is pure britisch styled. So I want to make a small city in the style of london.
