considering this cataclysm installer thing is only downloading 2.2gb of stuff do I need to somehow merge it with a retail install? or did blizzard finally learn what the word compression means.

It'll copy your retail install and then install over the new one.

So theoretically this installer should only install things that have changed, yet it just installed an EmeraldDream .adt file. Maybe we should find a way to port into the ED and see what has changed?
