Stuff like The Kills, The Dead Weather, Raconteurs?
Pixies
I come with a new request.
I need music that is pretty much exactly like this, in every regards (vocal style, instrumentation, songwriting, explosiveness, aggressiveness, and speed), except with English lyrics.
Anything that fits the bill?![]()
The Left is a good Alternative Rock band. Local, for me, Vancouver BC boys.
New music video came out.
For DT/Symphony X related stuff check out Porcupine Tree, Pain of Salvation, Ayreon, and Opeth.
.. The white stripes?
Rammstein is alot the same, but it still uses german vocals.
Do NOT watch their videos!
The live performance of Buck Dich is hilarious.
:colbert: come on
Well shit, I don't know. You could like Pavement maybe, otherwise I give up.
pixies
Edited:
the answer is always pixies
I love you.
I swear, I listened to each track on 'wave of mutilation: best of pixies' on average, 150 times each and arn't bored of them. That's how fucking good they are.
:3
Anyone knows any good guitar or/and harmonica (delta) blues? Such as Blind Boy Fuller, Robert Johnson, Guy Davis, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee?
Stilll searching
I'm tired of being only into music that out of my generation. I like anything from The Beatles, to metallica, to the white stripes. What is like any of those that is modern day? AND THE SINGER CAN'T HAVE A BITCHY VOICE
/caps
Try Tom Petty.
Allready listening to him, and it really wasn't what i was looking for :P

Anyways, does anyone know any good RnB from the 60's, 50's or older?
I'm in need of some geek rock, stuff like Johnathon Coulton, I especially like Future Soon.
Don't think it counts as geek rock, but try They Might Be Giants.
Anyone know anything like
OR
OR
P.O.S
It doesn't matter when they wrote it, as long as it's a good song I'll listen.
I guess Chris Thomas King is pretty mordern... If you like Blues.
There's a band from Norway called "Chateau Neuf Spelemannslag" that mixes Jazz with Norwegian folk music, for those of you who like something different.
One of their tracks where featured in a Simpsons episode about Norwegian descendants invading Springfield, I'm sure many of you have seen it.
I recommend these tracks: "Bukkehornlåt/Finnskoghalling", "Reinlender etter Thorvald Trondsgård" and "Finnskogpolser" from the Album "Curing Norwegian Stiffness"
"Gamle-Guro", "Lars Linkerifot", "Guten min/Fille-Vern", "Fjellmannjenta", "Halling etter Thorvald Tronsgård", "Cp-slåtten/Vetlegutten", "Hopparen (The Simpsons episode)" and "Tversover'n" from the albums "Spell and "Tjuvgods".
Edit: There are also Swedish and Irish bagpipes etc on some of their tracks, so it's basically a mix of many genres and folk styles.
All their music can be found on Spotify!
And some of their (not their coolest) tracks can be found on http://www.myspace.com/chateauneufspelemannslag
Stuff like Crystal Castles for inspiration for our new two person techno music band. We have one song but no lyrics yet. I wanna make a band like crystal castles.
Basically creepy techno and experimental electronica.
So, I was listening to Viscera Eyes by the Mars Volta and I found that I really liked a part of it towards the end. Does anyone know whole songs that are somewhat similar to that particular part of the song?
It's the 7:52-ish part.
Have you listened to the other albums by The Mars Volta? If you liked that song, I'd recommend pretty much anything by them.
probably Glass Candy, Digitalism, Ladytron, Goldfrapp. Some less than others.
Trs-80
Yep, I like just about everything from the Mars Volta, but for some reason, not a lot of it seems similar to that one part of Viscera Eyes.
Yeah, it's really not. I've been trying to think of something similar to that, but I can't.
I need some good funk music. Of course I already listen to RHCP.
Jane's Addiction, Prince, Primus
Tetragramaton is my favorite. Listen if you haven't.
Edited:
thanks buddy. Not Crystal Castles but it's something.
Anyone care enough to suggest me this kind of music?
I've looked through their other songs, but they seem to have a far too cheerful tune to them. The lyrics are pretty deep but the I dislike the tune
Example
The Tempations
Kool & The Gang
Earth, Wind & Fire
Curtis Mayfield
James Brown
Isaac Hayes
The Spinners
The Ohio Players
Sly & The Family Stone
The Brothers Johnson
The Gap Band
Parliament
Mandrill
If anyone wants some cool hippie music, check out Mahavishnu Orchestra.
