You can make gloves for like 15 bucks. home depo yard gloves. Industrial velcro. Cutting Board.
boom. saved 50 bucks. Thats what I did, works great.
To above poster. Its worth it to wait til you have about 150-200 bucks. You want a board to last really long get an Original or a Loaded board. I have a Tan Tien Loaded http://www.loadedboards.com/boards/tanTien.html
Original is a bit cheaper and still pretty decent. http://www.originalskateboards.com/longboards They use a lot of spring loaded trucks so the boards turn like mofo's. Awesome carving boards, not really great for sliding or downhill bombing. still a fun ride.
cheaper still, gravity is pretty decent. more generic boards. http://www.gravityboard.com/pages/gs...ds/boards.html
I'm willing to sell you mine for 100-125, it's a pretty good condition board, only minor cosmetic scratches from use.
Depending on what kind of shipping you want I might be nice and cover the costs.
It cost me 300$ but I'm no longer using it so why keep it.
here in phoenix only people that have long boards are hipster and preppy dumb asses, while most of the boarders are usually skate boarders
I longboarded to keep my snowboarding skills a little closer to home when there's no snow, but it's different enough that I was able to enjoying learning about longboarding.
The skater fashion is cool, getting hurt skating isn't.
Longboarders don't get hurt as mush so guess what LOOPHOLE FOR HIPSTERS yaaay.
I like cheap stuff that works! I'll give that idea a shot and see how it works out.
my entire school is doing this and it's fucking annoying
I ride a Landyachtz Evo with Siesmic trucks.
I get a lot of people driving in the opposite direction trying to figure out what the hell I'm on. This thing is amazing for carving hills and getting good speed on small hills, but carrying this behemoth up hills is no bueno.
I've only seen like 3 people in the parking lot on longboards? I'm going to have to bring mine to school this year because of my reduced schedule.
I haven't seen a single person Longboarding over here, just average skateboarders hanging out in huge gangs at a skate park, not letting any children in on scooters and rollerblades, ect.
Luckily there are some skaters that aren't complete douches though, which is pretty chill.
I went on a skateboard borrowed from a friend today, managed to keep my balance half the time, but speed wobbles are so fucking scary. My friend actually lost balance and scraped the left side of his jaw against the pavement and then later on he attempted to go down a really steep hill and hit a sharp turn, needless to say he ate dirt.
Good times.
I'm talking about all those kids who ball and run track wearing tanks and buying short boards. And how everyone claims to longboard when I know for a fact they bought one and just rode it to the beach a couple times. Does not make you a longboarder.
I always see your ass longboarding though txt me we're boutta throw down some hammers on edgewood hill
text me i got a new phone and lostttttt my fuckin numbers
FAKE MERGE EDIT
oh god i remember that board is heavy as FUCK
I have a couple of Longboards, one's a Sector 9 the other is a Vault. My Vault came with bad bearings, I complained, got a fresh pair of very good bearings a couple weeks later. So I'm pretty happy with the Vault for that.
My Sector 9 is a 50" Pintail (actually can't remember the exact size, I think it's that) so I ride it down mega steep hills, I go crazy fast and the adrenaline rush is awesome. I don't use them to do tricks or any of that jazz, not really into them.
Edited:
These days I'm seeing a lot of hipsters longboarding actually, and there are guys down the street from my house who I think recently got one, I see them trying to do tricks on them, I just whoosh past on my board. They can't go down the hills I go down on my board or else they'll fall.
I'm up in Fredericksburg for a few more days. When I get back, I'll def be bombing a few hills.
And hitting a few bowls too
i can spot you a few bones to smoke me up?
I want this board so fucking much, but its $246, and I'm lazy.
![]()
I just ordered a LBL Humu. It's so sick.
i wanna get into this, looks pretty damn cool. though i've never been on a board before..should i start on a regular skateboard or would straight to a longboard work?
skate board always
ah alright, thanks. how long do you think it would take until i could use a longboard?
Start straight on a longboard. Its easier to ride. Its smoother too and you aren't pressured into tricks immediately.
Longboards can cruise. skateboards just sort of roll. you can learn in a day if you try. Some people can naturally balance on a board well, others cant. it depends.
Oh, thanks man, I just need to find some way to scrape up enough dough..what would you think would be a good (maybe cheap?) starter longboard?
How cheap is cheap? 100? 150? 200?
my first board was about 200. the one I have now is around 350.
I really dont know haha, whatever would be good for a first one thats good I guess
I saw a nice longboard here in Spain for 90 euros. Pretty Gurd if you ask me.
Imo, I dislike longboards. They look extremely gay..
I dare say this is the stupidest thing I've ever seen on Facepunch.
I don't even remember this.
You are calling longboards "extremely gay" with an anime avatar.
Okay...
it's too fucking hot to longboard so now i'm a poolboarding faggot
the bowl at hudson is the best fosho
It's been a week, ass bone still hurts, I guess my injury wasn't as meager as you originally thought!
I personally prefer skateboarding, longboards aren't worth the harsh pricetag for the little things you can do. And the sense of freedom I think can be found elsewhere for a lot cheaper. Still fun to ride on my friends though (He has the exact same one as bottom picture)
Can you guys recommend me a board that would be good for cruising and occasionally bombing a few hills? I was going to just get a pintail then realised they aren't really built for high speeds.
I've always wanted to longboard but I'm poor and tend to fall a lot.
your an idiot
How is he an idiot when it's his own personal opinion?![]()
Idiots have opinions too, you know.
That's beautiful.
hey I remember this thread
opened my eyes to longboarding, seriously unlocked a great chapter of life because of this thread.
I got a loaded dancer and a loaded dervish. kiiinda wish I had never got the dancer, was expensive as fuck and is not that nice to ride.
Double post. Sorry
Sounds awesome. I really can't wait till I get my first board.
