Even better example: Tom Araya is catholic but Slayer plays some fucking crazy satanic and anti-religious music sometimes.
Tom Araya also appeared in Sam Dunn's documentary Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, and was asked about his religious background, to which he commented "Catholic." He was also asked "God Hates Us All, How does it fit in?" To which Araya replied "God doesn't hate. [But] it's a great fucking title."

I just respect Slayer overall for not hiding behind their ego, and rather state what they always think, whether people like it or not.

Dave Mustaine should learn from him... Cancelling a performance because Rotting Christ sound anti catholic? Refusing to play his songs that are anti religion? Pfft. It's just music. It's not like it has to reflect anything outside of the music, it doesn't really mean anything.

Angry Mustaine example: Dave Versus Laser.

Nice Mustaine example: Stopping a concert so he can get a young kid out of the mosh, and letting the kid watch the show from the side of the stage.

Get mad at me, rate me dumb, but Endgame in my opinion is their worst album.

And no, I'm not one of those TRUE METAL FANS who stick to the first three albums of a band, I like all of their albums apart from Endgame. Imo Endgame only has 5 good songs, and that ballad with a really long name sucks ass.

The Hardest Part Of Letting Go (as it says on the back of the CD case)

But then for some reason, in other places, it's called The Hardest Part Of Letting Go... Sealed With A Kiss

Yeah, I bought it. And it's ridiculous how it calls so much attention and takes up two lines (unlike other songs, that only take up a single line).

I was really disappointed when I heard their solos, they're fucking impossible to replicate unless you're Chris Broderick or some virtuous prog metal guitarist, they're just silly ULTRA FAST solos. Dave's vocals have no melody, and most songs focus on the sixth string, that's not really a problem, but it's pretty bad when all songs sound the same.

Songs start off with a good riff, then they suddenly decide to go to a shitty riff for the verses, assuming people won't listen to the guitars (1,320, The Right To Go Insane), and some songs do the exact opposite, start with shitty riffs then get good main riffs (Bite The Hand That Feeds). You have to listen to songs 10 times to like them, and NO, that's not what thrash's all about. On Peace Sells, songs are hard to catch because they're complex and all, but once you catch them, they're masterpieces. Now, look at Endgame, songs are hard to catch because of their eight thousand solos, bland riffs that are way too similar to other riffs and Dave's melody-less vocals. It seems the song "Endgame" is a news report out of CNN, damn (eventhough that song's pretty good).

Overall, I guess Endgame's more like an experiment that shouldn't be replicated. Imo it didn't work out too well for the oldschool fans, some people like it because the songs are simple and not so disturbingly agressive like Loved To Death or Black Friday, but why do you call yourself a thrash metal band then? Are you Metallica? Gah.

    Edited:

And that's just my opinion, I just thought I'd share my reasons why I didn't like it.

Honestly I think their best album is their most techinical album, Rust in Peace. Fucking love it, Five Magics and Lucretia are probably my favorite songs on the guitar side and for drums definetely Rust in Peace... Polaris and Take No Prisoners are highlights. That album has something for everyone.

I kinda wish they'd kept the longer names for "Bodies" and "Bite the Hand", "Bodies Left Behind" and "Bite the Hand that Feeds" sound better.

    Yeah I agree

Or the Hand That Feeds sounds best but that's a Nine Inch Nails

    Are song titles copyrighted

Either way 44 Minutes is the best song on the album :colbert:

It should also have been the music video it was going to be

    It'd be cooler

I'm not really a fan of the instrumental style of Endgame but it's still a great album. Not sure what it is, just something. But I can look past that :frogc00l:

I like 44 minutes because it's more melodic I think

Dialectic Chaos and Head Crusher are the only songs on Endgame I really liked. I was kinda dissapointed in the end because Head Crusher got me really pumped for the album and Dialectic Chaos started it off awesomely.

I don't really do a full analysis before I post, it's just something I've thought about. In the chorus it sounds so silly, "DETH FROM THU HEEADCRUSHER", like he's trying to think of the most metal lyrics ever or something.
