Ya, I guess you could make that argument, but others would probably argue that the government 'is' denying them. The amendment protects rights that are not outlawed, but gay marriage is.

Thats almost opening admitting gays are a second class if you fallow this logic, and if the subject of this is brought up in a court, or government, who ever brought it up needs to be removed of power, or just kicked out of the discussion because its obvious they are ignorant of society.

What? That's not even the issue here, if the kid ends up being gay that's not a problem at all.

My point is that the kid would be endlessly tormented for his situation by others. He'd end up having no/very few friends, he wouldn't have a normal social life, he'd probably be discriminated against at school, and all sorts of horrible things would happen to him.

If society can grow up and accept that gay people aren't bad, then I'm all for gay adoption/in-vitro/etc. However, society is extremely intolerant of gays at this point, so no matter how competent and loving the parents are it would end up being too harmful to the kid's development.

Ethnic groups have far closer ties than people of the same sexual orientation. Slaves had other slaves for emotional support. Roma travel in large groups, so they at least have other people to fall back on. Palestinians can fall back on other Palestinians.

However, until you reach adulthood, you aren't likely to find many (if any) people with gay parents or people who are gay themselves in your age group to fall back on. The kid wouldn't have any emotional support other than his/her parents and possibly a few other relatives.
