Summary

Zinger! is a team based gamemode that combines action, adventure and strategy wrapped around a game of mini golf. Shoot, trap, drug and destroy your opponents with a ridiculous arsenal of weapons at your disposal. Battle along side your teammates and claim your victory on each hole. With the course as your battleground and the cup as your goal, you'll need to avoid obstacles, teleport distances and jump across a melody of puzzles. Zinger! bundles all this excitement and more with a rich visual style and cartoon atmosphere; blending a 2D backdrop into a 3D world.

Some soothing music, cartoony and relaxing environment.

It's pretty awesome dude. Not what you would expect when you first buy Garry's Mod.

I played this a really long time ago when it was first being made, it was fun but it got boring after a while.

I just watched the video, it's changed a lot sense I played it that one time.

This looks like a good gamemode, I just hope you add the right things to make it replayable without turning it into a golf deathmatch from all the powerups. Perhaps adding challenges that add extra score (3 bounces before scoring the hole, timed courses, hole in 1 ect)? Maybe Adding ball effects if you hit a 95%+ power?

We share that feeling. Probably going to remove it.

Yea the old version could take upwards of 20mins per hole, this version will finish an entire course in 20mins.

These are interesting ideas. Adding bonuses for trick shots and such could keep it fun and interesting.

I forgot to bring that up, the match takes place over 1 day. Starts at dawn ends at night. Its just a visual timer.

The moon was drawn yes, the clouds are actually dynamically generated out of 6 oblong circles randomly positioned. I don't know if you can tell in the video but they are animated; they swell and shrink as they float along.

You sure do like weather :)

Looks excellent, but I can't say the video shows much more than looks. The concept sounds interesting though.

The amount of polish and shine on this gamemode already is incredible.

If there's any gamemode that should be shown to the community as a testament to the power of Fretta and the flexibility of the engine, it's this.

It's very pretty and polished, but it lacks features. It needs more twists. But damn it's beautiful. I wish I could do stuff like this.

The video was merely a visual style demo, we haven't even shown the gameplay yet.

Change the clouds, they look ugly.
Everything else looks great. I wonder if the day/night cycle can be slower?

Another thing is this looks like some video game I'd buy in a store, it's not very gmodish, maybe if you could be actual players.

Changing the clouds and the day/night sequence would be dumb for one simple reason - it's pernickety, there is no real reason to change something that looks perfectly fine and suits the cartooney feel of the entire gamemode.
My guess is that it will be cleaned up overall with time, as foszor and Jinto become more sure on what they want out of the gamemode, but for now, let the game progress.

Is the day night cycle going to be constant, or is it going to jump around like in the video? Keep up the good work!
