You cannot extend a volume beyond your space limits. You can shrink (or delete), partition, and extend from there.
Usually partitioned space is called unallocated space, right click on the free space and post a screenshot.
Delete that logical partition containing the free space at the end then you'll be able to extend it.
Only "New Simple Volume" is enabled.
Make sure you click on the dark green container, not the free space.
