'Tis the season and what better way to celebrate than with a
Holiday Challenge, in a follow up to our
last challenge! This time the challenge is
Video or Screenshot, your choice!
The Rules:
- Entries must be holiday (Christmas etc.) themed.
- Entries must be created for this holiday challenge. We will not accept any entries made prior to this date.
- Videos must be under 4 minutes long, if longer the entry may be excluded.
- We're judging by creativity. You won't gain an advantage if you choose to create a video rather than a screenshot or vice versa.
- Entries must be submitted in the forum thread.
- Poor sportsmanship will get you disqualified. IE "Your entry sucks terribly and I never want to see it again, idiot", or anything of the same nature.
- Put effort into your entry, no 5 second shit.
- When voting, please take your time and watch all the entries before voting for the first one you like.
- Do not double post your entry. To keep my sanity, it's bugging the shit out of me.
The Voting Process:- Gmod.com admins will choose 5 entries out of the submissions.
- The top 5 selected by the admins will be posted in a separate thread for the community to vote.
The challenge begins today,
December 17th. Entries will be accepted until
December 30th.

holiday challenge!

Happy Holidays from the Gmod.com admins, and happy gmoding!
HOW TO POST PICTURES
1. Before taking your picture, make sure you are taking it with the camera SWEP. If you are taking it with a spawned camera, make sure to type this in console: sv_cheats 1; cl_drawhud 0. This will make your HUD disappear.
2. Make sure your JPEG quality is perfect. How to do this? Open the Q menu and head to Options. Then, you should find a "Screenshot Quality" bar. Make sure it is 100%.
3. After taking picture, take it to your favorite picture editing software (some of the best n' free are
paint.net and
GIMP). Make some edits here and there. Its your picture, I don't decide that.
4. Save the image as JPEG and upload it to
tinypic or
ImageShack. There are lots of options for image hosting out there, but these are the ones I use.
5. After hosting, look for the image code for forums. It should be something like this: .
5a. If your picture is small, copy and paste on your reply. Done!
5b. If your picture is big, copy and paste, but instead of IMG, input img_thumb. Done! (they'll just have to click to see the full picture).
