I NEED to have time to do it. Sure I have a little time, but it's time I would rather spend doing stuff I actually want to do.

This will get updated some day, don't you worry, but it will be when I'm good and ready.

To be honest I don't see enough of the community following what is already in the tutorial, so I don't know what good an update is gonna do.

The isolation seems like total waste of time, why not take another picture with characters separated from backround with materials?
Of course that isn't very professional because there isn't always chance to use many pictures like that.

If you did that and used something like the magic wand tool to isolate them, you would get horrifically ugly isolation errors left and right. Isolating by hand is the most precise method, and looks the best.

If you don't isolate, there's no way you can do good shading and highlighting. Using a greenscreen technique often doesn't work very well, especially if the characters aren't very close to the camera and it almost always leaves horrible aliasing issues.

It's not so much that I'm so busy I have no time at all to update the thread... but when I only have an hour or two in the day to pursue my own outside interests, I have to make the decision: "should I edit the picture I just posed, something new and interesting to me, or should I continue making that massive thread that I'm not as excited about as I was when I first started it".

Well, I've given a blood splatter tutorial. I guess I should do a wounds tutorial too.

As for explosions, I'm really not the man for that - I suck at them myself.

    CMD + Shift + 4

CMD + Shift + 3 is when you choose what area to screenshot

    Assuming you're on a mac.

I suck at explosions. I'm gonna do some stuff with gradients and overlays and levels/curves and all that incredibly easy stuff that no one here seems to use.

You can skip the glow tutorial (how I did in my latest), I'll probably cover it soonish, when my bloody photoshop stops breaking my computer.

I am new to this editting, Im having trouble with one of his steps, the Texturing one. Im at the part where he says hide the layers with the textures in them. I don't know how to do that?

Just lower the transparency of the texture layer so you can see what you're isolating.
